Massive, sexy fruit-forward Pinot Noir from Zio Tony vineyard in the heart of Laguna Ridge. Good vintages of this cuvée are on par with the Cohn in my opinion, and this might be my favorite one yet. On night 3 this really opened up and showed some brooding dark berries, cola and sandalwood, laced with earth and spice. Already quite layered and complex, but needs a year or two in Bottle to show more defined flavors. Big oak tannins are still prevalent. Outstanding effort from an unusually low yielding harvest, this wine has some serious future ahead of it. — 8 years ago
[Tasted on December 9, 2017 at Marsh House in Nashville with Jay]
Brimming with ripe Russian River Valley fruit. Black cherry, raspberry and strawberries, with oak and tobacco. Lush and well made, but not my personal style of Pinot Noir. Extracted and a bit too hot for my palate. 14.8% ABV. 90 cases produced by Tuck Beckstoffer Wines. — 8 years ago
Hint of oak, but not too much. By far my favorite Chard At Balletto. Very smooth! — 10 years ago
Terrific Chardonnay, a complete surprise and an amazing choice from the Sommelier... Buttery finished with a hint of oak... — 10 years ago
Very tasty with great texture and restrained oak. Nice acidity and a touch of honey on the finish. Pure pleasure. — 11 years ago
2011, Lost Canyon Winery, Saralee's Vineyard, Russian River Valley, Pinot Noir. The last wine of the night for our PN wine tasting. Very Burgundian, fruit, spice and French Oak. This was not paired with any food, only conversation. Well balanced and complex. — 12 years ago
Spicy, strawberry meets blackcherry fruit. Hints of nutmeg and clove. Fresh and ripe with medium weight and well balanced chalky tannins. Vanilla flavors possibly influenced by French oak on the mid-palate. Finishes with persistence and elegance. Great length. — 7 years ago
Gorgeous cool climate Zinfandel. The American Oak is better integrated than other Ridge wines. Dried red fruit, herbs and spices, humming acidity, chalky tannin. A powerful achievement by Ridge, no surprise there. — 8 years ago
Very pleasing P. Noir with light body, excellent structure, and characteristic notes of red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, and hints of neutral and new oak barrels. Good, light body with moderate acidity and a lively though medium finish. An excellent example of new world fruitiness with old world style and sensibility, a difficult balance to strike with California grapes. Very well done P. Noir. — 9 years ago
Pineapple and nectarine with a hint of toasty oak. Lovely!

Not too much oak Chardonnay — 6 years ago
Very dark ruby for a Pinot. Cherry, oak, vanilla, strawberry nose. Big fruit but very smooth and not too jammy. Long vanilla close. Very nice this young. — 7 years ago
I was up at my wine locker today and there was a gentleman setting up for a private event. I introduced myself and he was the winemaker for Paradise Ridge. Dan was very kind and opened up this Sauv Blanc for me to try as he told me how their winery was completely burned to the ground by the fires in the fall. They lost their entire ‘17 vintage. Since their home burned down, Dan is taking his “home” to people around the country. Just another reminder that even though the fires are gone, the wineries still are hurting and need your support.
This is all estate fruit. Very pale and balanced SB. Tropical stone fruits, and minimal oak presence...almost non-existent. Yet it still has the backbone that shows it could age. Easy drinking. Screw cap. — 8 years ago

Wonderful complexities. Tart red notes like Cranberry and red apple skin melding with darker plum and black cherry. Wet muddy earth, smoky oak, cola, roasted herbs and savory spice. Like a collage where the pieces shouldnt go together but as a whole work in harmony. Tasty and interesting — 10 years ago
Sweet and fruity with good oak and tannin — 11 years ago
100% French oak (37% new)
Highly fragrant, scents of black cherries, ripe plums and herbs. The acidity is well balanced for a young wine. — 12 years ago
