Always a crowd pleaser...honeysuckle, peach, apricot and lychee, med acid....perfect at noon on Memorial Day! — 7 years ago
2nd best wine ever. Just grabbed a taste before a dinner party at the house. Decanting since Noon for a 6:30 start at the suggestion of the winemaker. I've got 2 hours to go and just couldn't wait. Beautifully balanced fruit from the start and the finish is just extraordinary. Lingers forever. Tannins have mellowed after 20 yrs in the bottle and the structure is a 10. Sorry to gloat, but this is damn good. — 8 years ago
One of these Rieslings which need to be decanted! Much better the next day!!!! Flabby and flat upon opening for dinner 🍴 however next at noon - Classic fresh cut garden hose aka ⛽️. Golden color. Sour mandarin (Randgpur lime). Just great. Will cut through any food except for steak. From winebid dirt cheap as no one knows these wines. — 8 years ago
Yes it is Noon and yes the wines are big and the alcohol is a bit high. BUT the wine is extremely well balanced. Great acidity and a great representation of Langhorne Creek. — 9 years ago
1999 This wine has really aged well. Long finish. — 9 years ago
My first impression of the just released 2018 Zinfandel. Due to climate related issues, overall Zinfandel production was down in 2018 but regardless, Rafanelli only bottles about half of what they produce with the remainder being sold off to others. Some Petite Sirah (13%) made it into the final blend. Being so young, I opened the bottle around noon and poured it into a decanter with intentions to drink later in the evening. By dinner, this was more open and ready to enjoy. Obviously primary with loads of powerful bramble fruit, pepper, red rope licorice and baking spices. I absolutely love the balance. The acid that Rafanelli achieves in their Zinfandel always seems to bring a smile to my face; so much lift which balances the lush fruit giving an impression of freshness. Long, very satisfying finish. The tannins are pretty steep right now and they seemed to build as time went on. I expect this will be a vintage that can age very well. 18mos in a combination of new, 1-year and 2-year old French oak barrels. 6,500 cases were made. — 5 years ago
Outstanding. Nearly opaque garnet. Nose is beautiful; Violets, roses, candied plum, chocolate, and cherries
Full bodied and coats the tongue thoroughly but somehow pulls off delicacy. Starts with fine tannins, then chocolate covered cherries. Lots of layers. Long finish. Yea for noon on Saturday! — 6 years ago
Needed a fork and knife for this wine. Opened it at noon for dinner at 9:30PM. Stunning texture, with some bold dark fruit, leather and tobacco. Stellar after 11-12 years in the bottle. — 8 years ago
Great Chignin. Fairly light body, ruby color, peppery. I opened it this morning for cooking and am highly tempted to drink before noon. Also good value -- not expensive. — 8 years ago
Incredible. Even at noon. Yum. Vanilla. Blackberry. — 9 years ago
Because everyone should drink port before noon on a Sunday, that's why. And a nice one this is. Pleasant thick dark fruit up front, Sweet Mother Alcohol coming through to remind you you're about to be on the impaired side of the equation. A good lingering of dark fruit finishes things off well. — 6 years ago
With grilled flank steak ( rare).
Excellent blend Pinot and homatage. Been buying wine from Groote Condtatia since 1972, when it was 84c a bottle, sold Thursday 10 till noon, limit 1 case — 7 years ago
Love it. Noon time pasta in oil. Tremendous. Going back for more. Fresh. Good acidity. Flavorful. — 8 years ago
Well balanced fun Syrah - I could have it from noon! Yumm w Round beef. — 8 years ago
This wine was decanted at noon. 7 hours later, it is still going strong. Makes the standard Beaucastel taste like a Côte du Rhône. The old vine Mourvèdre gives so much savory bacon to the glass that it blows the mind away. The magnum was to much. Would have aged faster in a standard bottle. This could have waited another 10 years easily. — 9 years ago

On a hot sunny Sunday noon in Singapore, this deep maroon coloured, chocolatey flavoured grape smelling, plumy sweet corn lasting wine, went super well with home made carbonara with truffle oil and baked portobello covered with cheesy deep fried bacon bits. Not any other day during this Covid-19 period. Keep safe! — 5 years ago
