The 2022 Frappato Vittoria Bell'Assai wafts up with purity, displaying an array of violets, lavender, crushed blackberries and a complicating whiff of dusty earth. Round and juicy in style, it possesses cooling acidity and crisp wild berry fruits that cascade throughout. The 2022 finishes wickedly fresh and with medium length, leaving a pleasantly crunchy, mouthwatering sensation behind on the close. The Bell'Assai would make an excellent pairing for a wide variety of cuisine. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2024)

Pours as vibrant as the label. A blend of pan-Mediterranean varieties, led by Tempranillo and Nero d’avola, that makes for a surprisingly generous, juicy expression of the whole zany zone, AND YET grown in the SA Riverlands. These bullets hit — 7 years ago
At Bricco celebrating Dana's swearing in. Dry, earthy, needed an hour. — 9 months ago

Pretty unusual blend of Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and Nero d’Avola from different vineyards in Mendocino County. Fermented separately and then aged in barrel for 6 months. Beautiful, complex nose with notes of red and dark fruit. Cherry cola, cinnamon and some smoky notes. Fresh, medium-bodied. Tart red fruit, some blood orange. Great acidity. Fun, very enjoyable — 3 years ago

Tasted this wine on the last day of our Sicily trip. With lamb chops. Absolutely amazing. Good body, red fruits, spicy, rich but nicely smooth tannins. Loved it. — 6 years ago
Pretty darn good. Dried fruit, raisin like but extremely smooth. — 7 years ago
Dark ruby with aromas of dark cherry, forest floor, and earthy. On the bud, it dark fruits, tartness, and a mild spice note. The finish is medium. — 9 months ago
From Domestique $29 on 1/6/2023. Bright light lively fruity. Peppermint. Nice bright finish. Surprisingly, for a young wine, it opens up nicely. — 3 years ago
