Really like this. Tart red fruit maybe a touch floral. Great acid/tannin combo. Fun to drink. — 11 years ago
Another great Austrian cuvee — 12 years ago
Decanted for 90 minutes. The wine offered cherry, blackberry, plum, coffee and cocoa on the nose. On the palate the wine showed dark cherry, blackberry, plum, coffee, cocoa, spices and black pepper, paired with medium to medium-plus acidity, medium-level round tannin and incredible length. The medium- to full-bodied, fruity, juicy wine was round and very balanced and drank very well. A great wine. Drink now and over the next three to four years. 90 — 13 years ago
My favorite. Never disappoints. 2007. Wow — 13 years ago
Mineraly. Earthy. Strong alcohol. Fruit absent. Oaky / Woody. Tannins. — 13 years ago
Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Randaufhellung, in der Nase saftige Frucht nach Zwetschken und Kirschen, feine Holzwürze kling an, am Gaumen sehr stoffig, elegante Textur. — 13 years ago
Matthias Gassner
Accidentally found a lost bottle of this vintage 2004 in the basement - in a carton since about 2006. (Solid blaufränkisch no-question but not something you’d call age-worthy, also need to mention the terrible storage circumstances with constant temperature and humidity changes for more than 10 years!).
Definitely past its prime some years ago but still very interesting. Lacks fruit. Acidity i would say medium +, tannins very soft and integrated. But not really in balance, overall very overaged aroma profile. Still interesting. Violet, reminiscent of pepper and plum, some oak and leather. — 9 years ago
