Budeshuri saferavi was described for the first time in Ivrispira villages in 1895. S. by Kvarian.
It is well studied in Georgian scientific literature.
Folk medicine used it and medicines made from it to treat wounds and lung diseases.

The berries are light pink at the beginning of ripening, and darken as they mature, but still remain pink. The juice is pale pink. It fully ripens from the second half of September. The seeds are oval, with a thin skin. Small pods. The grains have a pleasant taste and a gentle, characteristic aroma. The sugar content of the juice varies from 16% to 20%, and the acidity from 4‰ to 7‰.

Characterization of wine
The grapes and wine of Kakheti, Kartli, West Georgia and Meskheti differ sharply, but all of them are characterized by soft tones of dried black plums, cherries, blackberries, blueberries and spices.

Compatibility with food
Kakhuri (Khveri) Budeshuri is recommended with veal, poultry, game.

Wine 6/12 (Pinot Noir aka 'Peanut of the Night')

Nose has ripe cherry, tree bark, roses, blood orange slice, minor cedar notes, molasses cookie and fresh blackberry.

Palate has dried strawberry, ripe cherry, dried citrus, tart cherry, molasses, baking spices with notable tannins/acidity, a very long finish.

A perfect wine for any party, if you don't like this there might be something wrong with you. Are you a dyed-in-the-wool White Zinfandel fan, maybe this isn't your game then.

Once again it is notable that I have made one full trip around the Sun earlier this week. We had our small, social bubble team to the house for celebrating my getting older and somewhat less flexible in advancing age...Whatever will be done when I creast 50? Well, at least it's several years until needing manage that concern.

We enjoyed well-salted Ribeyes (Kinderhook Farm - Valatie, NY, prepared 48h in advance), turning to a beautiful medium-rare after a mere 12m of grill time and smashed, small red potatoes with capers (yeah try it, don't judge me yet). None of the bottles were particularly planned as 'steak wines'; we didn't care as it really was a wine nerd-fest of grapes/regions, from Burgenland, Austria to Brittany, France. Wine and food were on individual plateaux today. This was the vom Boden Spring Experience case, expertly curated by Stephen Bitterolf, and well received by our tasting crew. — 5 years ago

Quite dark redblue color for a PN; the nose is full of raspberries and dark cherry but also has some savoury forest leather/game type of aromas; taste contains all from the nose plus high spicy acids, some oak flavours and weak small tannins. This wine is very well-made, it’s soft spoken, medium-body, but full of lush fruit, great finish, surprisingly long for a Chorey. Immediately pretty and feminine, with a nose dominated by small red fruits (raspberry, Morello cherry) and black fruits (blackberry) set off by note of liquorice and underbrush. With air it evolves towards strawberry preserves and gingerbread with light game and leather notes. It is well-built with noticeably elegant tannins. — 9 years ago

The cork smelled like a freshly baked blueberry pie!
This wine had a very enticingly rich nose of chocolate and vanilla bean, cedar, jam fruits, game, and cinnamon. The pallet was as rich as the nose indicated, exhibiting notes of black and blue fruits, mushroom, pepper, and a delicious finish. The tannins were supple, yet clingy, but still smooth, with some slight backbone delivered by the small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon blended in. For only $30 from PRIORAT, you can't do much better. This is a young Pinot Noir from Sonoma County. Spicy and tangy with a beautiful color.

Light to medium in body with medium acidity.

Showing bing cherries, red currants, raspberries, oak, light vanilla, spices, light chocolates and black pepper.

This Single Vineyard is good right out of the bottle and better with some air time. After 30 minutes, soft tannins show up and bring more structure to the game.

I had it before and this time I gave it a light chill and it paired beautifully with the brie cheese with wild mushrooms.

A very small production of only 5 barrels.

Beautifully smooth Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah. Rich, thick, velvety wine made of dark red fruits with touches of coco.
