This wine had a very enticingly rich nose of chocolate and vanilla bean, cedar, jam fruits, game, and cinnamon. The pallet was as rich as the nose indicated, exhibiting notes of black and blue fruits, mushroom, pepper, and a delicious finish. The tannins were supple, yet clingy, but still smooth, with some slight backbone delivered by the small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon blended in. For only $30 from PRIORAT, you can't do much better. Nice bottle, had open over a 5 hour period, the alcohol was a touch out of balance.
