Mature aromas of dried cherries and ripe tomato (& tomato leaf). Yet the tannins still show grip, the purity of fruit is prominent and the acidity still juicy. This one has a few years to go. A very, very good wine.

Like a smoother Sauvignon blanc, very balanced and drinkable — 9 years ago
Tasted this wine in Trastevere within a cellar that had walls built as early as 80BC. Now I will admit, the romance of Roman history may have influenced my rating. But this wine went very well with our suppli. — 10 years ago
Maybe a hair too tannic but very nice. — 11 years ago
Got the 2007 riserva in Panzano. Full, smooth, cherries, plums, a little leather, maybe a little white pepper. Delicious. — 11 years ago
Deeply opaque wine moving towards a tawny color. Nose has dark black fruit, sweet vanilla, toast, and a bit of honeysuckle. Palate is full and mouthcoating with mocha, blackberries, white pepper, and baking spices. Acidity is crisp, tannins are firm, and the finish is long. The wine is rustic, unusual and tasty. — 11 years ago
From Taormina cooking class. Crisp and easy to drink. Slightly fruity — 6 years ago
Crisp with a side of citrus and grilled peach with a touch of lemon. Lovely — 7 years ago
Incredible. White flowers, rose petal, orange blossom, peach, pear, orange creamsicle, vanilla. Strong old vine intensity and ultra long thought-provoking finish. Just a baby still, with prevalent oak and potential for extended aging period, but still really well balanced. — 7 years ago

Fantastic Tuscan wine. Earthy, big, smells of a historic wine cellar. Excellent Italian style wine. — 9 years ago
Amazing value. Dried fruit and herbs. Nice acidity and tight tannin structure. A little mineral; slate or wet granite. — 9 years ago
An absolute treat! A hot nose, dusty bing cherries and dates with an earthy note. Big and bold on the palate, cedar and black plums with a grippy finish. By the glass at Rendezvous! — 10 years ago
This is a blend of Merlit and Cabernet sauvignon — 11 years ago
Almost like a sour beer. Lemon-y, delicious! — 6 years ago
So much better than expected. The acid had fallen off a bit but the texture was reminiscent of older Sancerre and overall quite pleasant. Drinking the cellar dry so we had to try it! — 7 years ago
Yes! That’s was worth opening. Could have sat a long while longer; but delicious now. — 7 years ago
This $10 Siciliano Rosato is FANTASTIC. LIGHT, fruity (strawberry is most prominent), perfect acidity. Great with food or solo. Well done. — 8 years ago
Lovely example with classic Sangiovese profile: sour cherry, high acid and smooth tannin, medium body. High alcohol. But in more interesting terms this is summertime in your angsty teen years. You and your (maybe stoned) friends want a sundae. But like, (long story I will tell on the blog) you end up with a classic sundae because someone's parents have good taste so it is basic but...better. And this wine's vanilla and cherries are baller. No maraschino in this game. Semi-feral red fruits of all types hanging in new American oak for say, a month or so before deciding to hang with the older Europeans they spotted smoking in the corner... — 8 years ago
Extraordinary Zibibbo: a less knonw grape but in the "dry" version is spectacular. Valle for money — 9 years ago
Had once again on November 8, 2015 after trying it at a wine tasting event — 9 years ago
