Nez d'amande . Gouleyant , soyeux, une bonne longueur . Mirabelle . — 9 years ago
— 10 years ago
From 110 year old Albillo vines in Ribera Del Duero. 6 days on the skins then wild yeast fermented. Gnarly. Grading this against other wines is unfair because this is something from another planet. On paper this wine is totally flawed. It seems to have more brett than any white I've ever experienced and VA is totally through the roof. Oxidative. Somehow though, it is really really delicious. Ever changing and volatile in the most positive sense of the word. Hefeweizen, turmeric, cheese rind, garlic scape, seaweed, and barnyard would be completely offputting if not offset with the bursting juiciness of fresh starfruit and mirabelle. Otherworldly and awesome for it! #breakingtherules — 11 years ago

Confit lemon zest, brioche, mirabelle pastries, beautiful freshness.

Love it. Fruit buy not sweet. Liking the roses these days. — 13 years ago
Great character. Good fruit, hints of mirabelle with pleasant touch of mineral. — 13 years ago
Golden in colour and seems quite developed, yet it’s fresh, salty and with juicy acidity. A slight tannic presence, too. Mirabelle plums, orange peel and limes. This is super food friendly and is drinking beautifully. A lovely wine. — 8 years ago
Belle couleur dorée. Nez très expressif, bouche puissante de fruits blancs confits (coing, mirabelle) avec des notes fumées et un bel équilibre. Magnifique. — 9 years ago
Excellent wine. Aromatic. Balanced. Melon, unripe white peach, veg notes, minerals. — 9 years ago
Amazing complexity with green apples, Mirabelle plums and some gooseberry. Pronounced acidity and healthy dose of spice. Seems unbalanced and strange yet all pieces fall into place. A wonderful wine. — 9 years ago
As one who loves candied ginger, lemon peel and this wisp of butter brittle, this swoons at the seams of every scent and once tasted haunts the palate with mirabelle, pear Williams, and a lightly baked tarte tatin with a hint of baking spice, coconut water and firm and fresh baked pineapple. 32 and strong. — 11 years ago
Bright lemony yellow. Fresh lively nose. Mirabelle, blossoms, herbs, fresh hazelnuts, sweet spices. Fresh and crisp, full body, creamy. Citrus, herbacious. Great long crisp and creamy aftertaste. — 11 years ago
Very lightest of salmon hue--soft floral notes of mirabelle/orange blossom, strawberry and white cherry, almost a bit of fresh herb. Really delivers on the palate- creamy citrus and intense cherry/red berry, mouth coating minerality, herbs, very Provence like. — 11 years ago
If you think southern France doesn't have good white (I did), taste this. Quince, mirabelle (yellow/white plum) and honey with great acidity and citrus fruits. Burgundy meets southern France — 12 years ago
Marc Hebrart Cuvée de Réserve Premier Cru Brut Champagne à Mareuil-sur-Ay | Dégorgé le 04 janvier 2013 | 12% | Terry Theise says the fruit of Mareuil Pinot Noir is unlike any he knows in Champagne: “firmer and less malty than Aÿ, altogether less chunky than Bouzy, not unlike Verzy but richer, far more comme il faut than the savage power of Verzenay, less softly perfumey than Ambonnay, less smoky than Cumières. Indeed if it were Burgundy, Mareuil could well be Morey-St.-Denis.” Which might be why I love this so –and for its swooning scent of rye dough and bright Mirabelle plum which speaks of the fruity pumpernickel of the Vallée de la Marne within Champagne –even though it doesn’t have any Pinot Meunier –chalky, tangy with apple skin tannins and a chirping texture and fragrantly flavored finish, this is LOVELY! — 13 years ago
Blackberry, raspberry, vanilla, mossy earth, cherry and oak. Great structure and well-integrated tannins. — 8 years ago

Holy fuck, this wine is amazing. Spicy and huge! Such a particular mix of savory (wasabi, turnip purée) and fruity (perfectly ripe golden pear, Meyer lemon, pineapple core, mirabelle). Super compelling structure that pulls back just short of the edge of unctuous and cloying. Thanks to @Andrew Rastello for pulling this epic bottle for today's blind. — 10 years ago
Great nose filled with complex notes of lemon oil, crushed rocks, almonds, mirabelle, daisies, white flowers (on acid!) and apple concentrate, touch smoky, gun Flint. Elegant in the mouth though less compelling than the nose there is an attractive simplicity, juicy mid palate and the mineral weight of the wine builds on the finish. — 10 years ago
Yay! We're back in Alsace with some awesomeness. Fruity, round. Caramel, mirabelle plum, and stone fruit jn general. A great acidic backbone make for an awesome experience. Very lenghty. Yum. — 11 years ago
They were out of Puffeney Chardonnay so we just had to drink this. Really great fresh yellow orchard fruits (mirabelle, golden apple skin, yellow pear) matched with these savory almond, sesame, salted cashew, walnut husk, saffron and chicken stock. Like great fino or manzanilla, but without that little muscled bump of the acidification and fortification. A classic and should be considered as highly as wines that we see much more often on IG and @delectable. — 11 years ago
Full. Light color — 12 years ago
Ah but so smooth. Lovely fruit, mirabelle. Nice acidity for balance. I likes it and the people who makes it. — 13 years ago
Bonkers but brilliant! Everything from lemon zest and mirabelle plum to honey and sage. Better room temperature than cold. — 13 years ago
