First of the Sicilian entries, less popular than the Tancredi afterward though excellent pairing with Greek chicken/salad…more the traditionally Mediterranean earth though far more elegantly done — 3 years ago
Nice, light red. Terrific Italian red — 5 years ago
My first Etna wine. Impressive mix of lots of things I like from different grapes, all in one glass. Fruity and fresh but with depth , spice, and complexity. Somewhat pinot like in weight, but with tannin and structure. And even the sour cherry notes of a nebbiolo. Then there is a more meaty, herbal ending, like a southern rhone and tannin that gives a real firmness without weight. Balanced and really interesting. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Good alternative to chianti or fruitier expressions of rioja. Med bodied but with real fruit freshness and interest. — 6 years ago
Great amarone, the touch of raisin, a sweetness on the back end. — 7 years ago

Wonderful brightness of fruit and solid acidity. Lovely recommendation of the sommelier — 3 years ago
E’ il uno di nostro favarito da italia. Crisp e acido abbastanza, mezzo corpo. Ha unpo il gusto amaro di finire. L’abbiamo bevuto con sashimi del tonno e fluke. Molto buono. Da sconto in astor wines. — 4 years ago

Pehmeä ja tukeva maku, erinomainen — 6 years ago
I feel like I’m on a beautiful Italian coast eating seafood that was just swimming, enjoying this crazy good wine. The aromas start as pure funk, like a nutty, salty, hard cheese with some age. With air and temp a dense tropical tone emerges overlaying stones/seashells. It’s like squeezing lemon into a fresh oyster. Viscous mouthfeel with medium+ acid finishing somewhere near mezzo-soprano. — 7 years ago

Dry, strong smoke flavor. Finishes light with berry — 3 years ago

A rush of ripe red berry fruits waft from the glass, as licorice, sweet spice, and rosy florals join the mix. Silky textures envelope the senses, finishing with saline minerals and youthful tannin. Wow this Emilia-Romagna Sangiovese is an unreal value. $17.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2020) — 5 years ago
Floral, apricot. Fruit fwd. — 6 years ago
Very different wine. Tastes like you ran through a fruit flower field with your mouth open. You will not find another wine like this. — 8 years ago

A much needed big pour! It’s been a very long week! After an hour decant this wine is so silky smooth and very fruit forward. TGIF! — 2 years ago
