Deep ruby. Powerful black/blue fruit, incense, Indian spice and vanilla aromas on the expressive nose, with a smoky mineral quality adding urgency. Offers sweet, densely packed boysenberry, cherry cola and spicecake flavors that spread out steadily on the palate, picking up an exotic hint of star anise and a touch of licorice on the back half. Lush, broad and seamless in character, finishing with superb energy, sharp delineation and smooth, even tannins that add structure and subtle grip. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, March 2019) — 6 years ago
Blend of equal amounts of local red grapes; Caino, Espadeiro and Loueiro, Ruby red color with aromas of red fruits, herb, floral and cigar box notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with tobacco, oak and garden herbs. Medium+ finish, chalky tannins, savory, ending with herbs, spice, cedar and slight fruit, savory. Nice, will continue to age. — 4 months ago

Bright and crisp. Blair and Meghan loved it. — 10 months ago
Wine with roasted whole chicken part 2: I used to adore Ribera Sacra, & then moved away with the inevitable rise in price & trend towards more modern styles. Not this. A short decant (45-60) to take the wind out of the Brett sails, & we were off: dense, brambly black fruits on nose & palate, with a distant barn door left open on the nose. Medium plus acidity. It’s the length though that impressed me, along with a freshness (at 13%). Evolves in glass, as if the fruit still has layers. Like a really good chinon. At about 28$, a high end QPR. Soft, but with enough body and structure to assert itself. — 5 years ago
Loved the spiciness of this Spanish beauty. The Garnacha exploded on the finish the first night. Stuck the cork in it over night and it was even better the second night. — 6 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2020 pours a deep ruby purple with a near opaque core and a magenta rim; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful with notes of Montmorency cherry, tart plums, licorice, purple flowers, cocoa, and gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Tasty stuff and a very nice pairing with braised short rib. Drink now through 2040. — 5 months ago

Bouquet de fruits rouge cerises, cuir, poivre, tanins delicats bien fondues. — 6 months ago
On the nose - flowery and lots of blackberries/strawberries.
On the palette - blackberries, sour cherry, and stone/gravel. Somewhat earthy, but not funky.
I was surprised at the tannin (med+) and has good acidity. Would go well with food.
Reminds me of a Beaujolais, but less of that jammy character and more minerality. Longer finish too. Decently complex and interesting wine. — 3 years ago

Always fine. The blood, iron like hint of Mencía, very mineral, fine red fruit and great acid — 4 months ago
