Thank you @Shay Aldriedge for this trade - really great fruit bomb - finish is growing - color lighter than I expected but real deep down honest to God freaking off the hook taste - first time and will not be my last one - and man I can fly (wrong context) - I can smile — 9 years ago

The nose on this was incredible from the start - cassis, baking spices, and chocolate- exactly what I was craving tonight. But the wine really needed a lot of time to open up. Luckily, it's a Friday night and I've got nowhere to be! An hour and a half after decanting, the Cab Franc that had been very pronounced upon opening the bottle had mellowed and integrated nicely with the rest of the blend. — 5 years ago
One of my favorite small production wine, 300 cases. Cal Nicholson spent his youth in So. CA & after a long marketing career he hung up his spurs to follow his 2 real interests in life – surfing & wine making. Jones is the maiden name of Cal’s wife Pam. A wonderful wine. Aromas of lemon citrus with herb, stone & tropical fruits. Palate, peach, Granny Smith apple & ripe melon flavors with lively citrus zest wrapped in lbalanced acidity. Lingering finish ending with mineral citrus finish. Consistent! Nice! — 6 years ago

It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a tasty one from Mount Veeder.
Deep ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Fruity nose of black plums, black currants, dark coffee, oak, spices, pencil lead, vanilla, tobacco, licorice, earth, light herbs and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, coffee, vanilla, spices, cola, licorice, mint, black pepper, bitter herbs, vegetables and earth.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins, cranberries and peppercorn.
This young Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is starting to drink nicely now, although it needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.
Showing nice complexity, elegant and spicy, with lots of earth notes.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.
Smooth, elegant and tangy. Feels like a young Bordeaux, and will age nicely in the next 10 years.
Good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats. I paired it with a Brie cheese and crackers.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged for 30 months in French oak barrels (50% new). A tiny production of only 125 cases.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
