This wine was much better than the less dry version from the same vineyard. I got citrus notes with fruit, mainly apples. I am glad to have tried this wine in class as now I know to look for a much more dry white. It had a nice sensation in the mouth, and after the second sip I was really enjoying it. Very good Columbia Valley Bordeaux blend. This one may be on the downward slope however. The initial nose was spicy with lots of cedar, dark red fruit and a hint of eucalyptus but after the first glass, many of the more delicate aromas faded to reveal the usual dominant Cabernet traits. The tannins have softened to a velvety texture and the finish was long and pleasant. Very nice overall impression even if it is on its way downhill. — 11 years ago
