Very enjoyable, plum/cherry notes, touch of sweet, low tanins — 5 years ago
You have to understand that not many wines ( well, that’s a bit bombastic) give me more pleasure consistently than this, the most recent release-2010! From Calabretta . Kinda like Lopez de Heredia meets Vallana, ie Nebbiolo, though it is Nerollo Macalese. Smoked, tar, roses, fine & integrated tannins on the palate- strong mid palate which in my imagination has gotten stronger with age. Super lithe and really ethereal body- light, light to medium body but gorgeous acid spine, strong presence. Not a light wine. Bought a case or so a while ago-I fear the day I am down to one. This wine is very special to me. Visited the Gagliasso family many times and love their wine and hospitality. I got this bottle at the winery and have had it in my basement until now. Christmas Eve seemed like the right time to have it. Anyway, drinking very nicely. — 8 years ago
Very very nice Barolo. Allow it to breathe a little and you won't regret it — 9 years ago
Forgot how much I loved this deep, inky purple wine. It’s rich, velvety - enjoy it with food, but a great red to slowly sip and savor. Worth the treat. — 4 years ago
Big aroma. Jammy jammy upfront. Raspberries and dark blackberries. Then a strawberry finish. Mild lingering dryness — 6 years ago
Earthy, rusty, medium body, high tannins, old world-y — 8 years ago
Wonderfully easy to drink. Great white. — 8 years ago
Christmas Eve Dinner — 8 years ago
Deep, dark, balsamic fruit and fragrant scorched herbs on the nose. More sweet, dark, intense fruit, herbs and a little earth on the palate, with a long, very grippy finish. Already deliciously elegant with a promising future. Great stuff. — 9 years ago
Medium ruby color with aromas of ripe red fruits and elegant hints of floral. On the palate flavors of black cherry, raspberry and plum with hints of fig and tobacco. Tannins are fine and round, a tad young with high acidity noted. The finish is medium, smooth and ends with oak and earthy mineral notes. Very nice. Needs time. — 5 years ago
Again another super vintage of this wine. Refreshing crisp melon notes and slight mineral aftertones. — 6 years ago
The 2013 Bodega Classica Lopez de Haro Reserva is medium dark in the glass. The nose is aromatic with violets, cigars, ripe plums and earth. On the palate, we find big, dark fruit, oak spice and a meaty black olive note. Tannins are firm and the acidity is lively, so it's great to sip as well as have it with some steak. — 8 years ago
Delicious wine on our first night here in Italy. Would highly recommend! — 8 years ago
