A fantastic, serious wine and a fantastic deal. Really classic Morey st Denise. An enchanting and intoxicating nose with dark fruit, sweet earth, meaty notes, bay leaf and thyme; a hint of leather and game, maybe eucalyptus or amaro and an ethereal undercurrent of natural woods, woodsy without oaky or vanilla notes. Powerful, Round, rich, silky and savory on the palate. Not at all opulent but just in a great window with some resolves tannins despite still having a strong tannic spine. Baking spices followed by Sweet earth and sandalwood dominate a long finish. With air, also get a long dark cherry note, maybe some chocolate covered cherry. Deeper and more exotic savory notes. SIlky, plush and an earthier expression of a chambolle. Serious, and maybe even sexy ;-) — 6 years ago
A pale, almost translucent yellow; much more rounder than I expected but phenomenal balance of acidity and fruit. Some interesting herbs with a touch of vanilla here; need to get some more! — 7 years ago
Lovely flavors of strawberries and raspberries, tobacco, earth, bright acidity and medium-light tannins. A delicious wine. We challenged the somm to find a wine that paired with duck, pork and halibut and this was his choice and was spot on. A really delicious wine and great hints of new world from an old world producer. — 8 years ago
Meaty, with cooked raspberries and steel. Powerful and savory. From 375. — 9 years ago

Very bright but very excellent Bourgogne rouge. — 6 years ago
Black cherry, boysenberry, blood orange, sassafras, licorice, clove, allspice, tobacco. Dark fruit profile, serious acid and very grippy tannins. A bit hard and austere on the palate right now but has the stuffing to age a few years and round out some of the jagged edges. Fair amount of complexity and depth for a more than reasonable price. — 7 years ago
Spicy French greatness! — 7 years ago
In your face vanilla and then dark cherry. Good amount of tannins left this needs more time. Nice but not overly complex. Raspberry tart in the glass.
However this could be very good in 3 more years. — 9 years ago
The oak and minerality stand out on their own. Would love to revisit in a few years once they've calmed and melded together. #happyfriday #meursault #marchand — 9 years ago

Simultaneously light yet earthy, with soft flavors of mushroom and red fruits. Enjoyable, food friendly. — 5 years ago
Balanced, fruit, tannins are present, but softened. Delicious. — 6 years ago
— 7 years ago
