A new Rioja for me I grabbed in Spain from @gabymeetswine @vilaviniteca @ €105 & whilst nice I think it’s overpriced as you get just as good quality in many £40-£50 Rioja but that said it’s nice 😉 & quite unusually earthy & mineral laden 😁 leave 5 years 👍

🍇 Mazuela, Graciano & Tempranillo
🍷 Deep dark ruby
👃 Soggy earth, gravel, minerals & pencil lead through muted dark cherry w/ a light smokey soaked oak tone, red currant, balsamic & herbs then the oak really pushed through on steroids after a couple of hours
👄 Med body of red & dark cherry in balsamic w/ cocoa & minerals galore w/ a touch of blackberry
🎯 Med+ dry tannic red & dark cherry/berry cocoa mineral earthy linger w/ an okay follow through

— 8 years ago
At last a wine that is not the remains of my Champagne weekend. It’s a smidge green and tannic. I wish I’d saved it for a few years. This is potent and interesting and I think I should have just given it at least three years. D’oh. Maybe a day or so of being open will help because the potential on this is huge given fruit, tannins and acid. — 8 years ago

Goutorbe-Bouillot Reflets de Rivière Brut, Champagne. Blend of 60% Meunière, 20%Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay from vines near the village of Damery. Very traditional , fruity and complex , yet still has good acidity and freshness. I can imagine it will develop some more with age. Very enjoyable wine. Used it to wash down it a turkey burger. #champagne #frenchwhitewine #goutorbe-bouillon #villageofdamery #refletsderiviere #nicholaspearce #growerschampagne #nonvintagechampagne #champagneanytime — 8 years ago
Grown in the Russian River Valley which is perfectly suited for the delicate weather needed to grow perfect Pinot Noir. Tierra y Mar Is exceptional with perfectly balanced acidity notes of not Meg and clove highlight the depth and complexity of this 2015 Pinot Noir — 8 years ago

Typical scent of vanilla, baking spice, dill, fruit, and red fruit. Lots of energy on the palate, a little smokey character, earthiness, and spice. Mineral finish. Rambunctious, but good. I like it! — 8 years ago

No notes, red wine of the birthday celebration of my cousin. Good stuff, a bit of oak, with a bit of vanilla in the rear. Went well with a duck parmentier. — 3 years ago
