Tannins almost gone. Very complex taste, ripen yellow fruit caramel note at the end. Macchia Mediterranea. — 6 years ago
Good fruit, solid back end, dusty finish. Really opened up after about an hour in the decanter — 6 years ago

teso e tagliente come un rasoio, morbido e avvolgente, rotondo e allo stesso tempo duro, granitico, fiori bianchi e frutta gialla, sapido, minerale, ricorda il timo e la macchia mediterranea, lungo e molto persistente. — 8 years ago
— 8 years ago
Fairly dense red, moderately extracted pigment. Black cherry, black currant, mint and butter aromas. Fairly ripe flavors of cherry, blackberry, black currant in mouth, rounded mouthfeel, slightly tart blackberry and cranberry on finish with seed bitterness and mild skin astringency. Lactic aftertaste. After an hour, white pepper and then, 90 minutes later, cocoa emerges in the finish and aftertaste. After two hours, barrel smoke emerges. Great fruit, nothing too fancy on the winemaking end (perhaps deceptively so) but exactly what I’d want from a Lodi Italian varietal like Barbera, especially if you can decant an hour or two and wait for that white pepper and cocoa to emerge. — 4 years ago
Gran grechetto. Naso di frutta gialla matura e tropicale, note burrose, croissant, pasticceria qualche lieve sentore erbaceo, di macchia mediterranea. Bocca sountuosz, grasso e con una bella acidità, lunga persistenza e note tostate — 6 years ago
2014 - dark raspberries, macchia, rosehips, salt - Chinon-like - after 24 hour decant — 7 years ago
We both liked this. — 8 years ago

F Me Wine. Huh. Yup, this has me. Tobacco and oaky lovey goodness. Nothing about this wine says boring steady solid Barbera. It says, "Hey baby, let's make sweet sweet complex indigo berrilicious over and over grape love." And then you can't remember anything that is or was before. So Good. Can easily become my go-to over Macchia Mischievous. — 6 years ago
Good fruit maybe a touch too much oak? — 8 years ago
Bold Sangiovese fruit dominates this enjoyable & very nicely priced Tuscan $17 — 8 years ago

First Chianti style spent money on. Pretty good definite tomato and acid. This one has tannins as I’ve come to expect from macchia.
