Belle fraîcheur, c’est citronné, avec un peu de gras, bel équilibre ça descend tout seul — 7 years ago
Apple, pear, peach pit, some pineapple, blossoms. Full body, no taste of oak, perhaps aged on lees. Rich with a good finish. — 7 years ago
Super Delishous ... smooth and no flavors of oak (which we typically do not enjoy). Imported by the Square Root LLC company in Fitchburg, WI. A rare find! — 9 years ago
Like a junior Meursault. Deftly balanced. Mineral and lively. — 9 years ago
Interesting Chardonnay, full bodied with a luscious mouth feel. Apricots and melon flavors.

Iron fist with a velvet glove. Delicate flavors of lemon peel and crushed stones, with lanolin texture, fullish body, refreshing freshness, and long finish. — 4 years ago
Delicious. Bought at Liner & Elsin. — 5 years ago
White Burgundy (Chardonnay) with notes of pear and flowers (Roche), at Coastal Alchemist wine bar, Ogunquit, ME, and at Firestone in Ft. Myers, FL — 7 years ago
Crisp and steely minerality, acidity, what you expect from a nice #bourgogneblanc , but the unexpected delight is the fruit forward touch of sweetness. — 7 years ago
Delectable can’t seem to get the identification right. Regardless, this is a fun and delicious wine. Very tropical, with good cut and vibrancy — 8 years ago
Fantastic white wine. Perfect Chardonnay that pairs acidity and butteriness oh so well. Could drink all night. — 9 years ago
This drinks a lot more like a Puligny than a Macon. Great minerality and pure fruit. — 11 years ago
The 2019 Mâcon La Roche Vineuse Vieilles Vignes is completely barrel fermented; however, since ‘03 Merlin has utilised less new oak, currently using around 10-15%. The 2019 is well-defined on the nose with hints of white flowers and orange blossom. The palate is quite spicy and peppery, a powerful Mâcon with just a light touch of honey towards the finish. Very fine. (Neal Martin, Vinous, November 2021)

Excellent wine for an unexpected spring day in February. — 7 years ago
Nose and palate like a New World Chardonnay. Some funky leesy notes and some sulphidic Struck match. Trace of pineapple juice on palate. Lightly oaked with muted acid. Good Wine but the Verget is $59 and the Leeuwin Estate Prelude from Margaret River at about half this price is a better wine. Tasted 123 weeks later on 12th December 2020 with consistent notes. Certainly new world in style except lightly Oaked with that Pineapple juice still there. Interestingly I was rereading a tasting note on Leflaive Macon. Pineapple juice flavours must be a characteristic of the region. — 7 years ago

2022/5/28 with tai sashimi 2 ways, tomato in dashi, chicken and new onion in pea and white miso soup, etc. There may be some bias since I’ve been looking for bottles like this since being reminded of how good classicist white Burgundy is with Kyoto food, but this really did it, and even more so considering the price. Savory, salty minerals, butter and citrus, the requisite oak, some honey from maturity - it all just works. — 4 years ago
