Incredibly aromatic nose of honeysuckle, lychee and white peaches. Palate is refined and delicious. Pure. Finishes dry. — 9 years ago

Domaine François Raveneau

Butteaux Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2006

Really good. White flowers minerality. Very raveneau. A touch of lemon, lychee and lime with great stony minerality. A bit shorter on the finish than the valmur a but very in place. Excellent — 9 years ago

La Doriane Condrieu Viognier

Rich in aroma, flavor, and texture. The oak was there but what caught my attention more was the white floral and lychee notes. On the palate it's dense, extremely pure, with a huge finish that shows acidity buried down deep in the wine. Great stuff if you can try it, a benchmark from one of the greatest sites in Condrieu! — 9 years ago

drink it now! honey, crushed rocks, lychee, honey dew, kiwi, all singing in beautiful harmony, but probably for only a few more years. — 10 years ago

Alsace Gewürztraminer 2011

Amazing spice on the nose with petrol, Apple spice, minerals and lychee nut. Big apple spice, peach and petrol on the palate, with a great baked apple lingering finish. Great stuff. Worked well with curry. — 10 years ago

Gewurtz, by the way. Not Pinot blanc.

Domaine Marcel Deiss

Alsace Gewürztraminer 2007

A beautiful and true to typicity and grape original.

Floral, spicy, lychee like exotic fruit adds some extra dimension.

Sick value at my local wine spot!

Domaine Zind Humbrecht

Hengst Alsace Grand Cru AOC Gewürztraminer 2013

Like any good gewurtz, it's very lychee driven. There's barley honey and Meyer lemon in there, which brings in some acidity. But there's a strange zip at the back of the throat. A slightly funky sting, almost like a strong blue. That's not a bad thing, just rather interesting. Would recommend more for meals than drinking with friends — 9 years ago

Domaine Léon Boesch

Edelzwicker Alsace White Blend 2014

Our dinner for the evening. Beef-pork frankfurters with turmeric-jalapeño sauerkraut and Curry ketchup on a potato bun garnished with fennel seeds. Accompanied by a 1l, high acidity, lychee-finishing Alsatian white blend - 45% Riesling, 25% Pinot Blanc, 15% Gewürztraminer, 12% Pinot Gris, 3% Muscat. - DAY 2 - ø Nota Bene ø this is also an excellent wine to pair with sushi. The subtle interplay of flavor in traditional sushi really brings out the diversity evident in the blend. — 9 years ago

Yacochuya

San Pedro de Yacochuya Valle de Cafayate Torrontés 2014

At this price point arguably the best Torrontes expression I've come across. Floral and citrus nose, broad mid palate with still sufficient acidity and some peach and even minty tones. The after taste however is the impressive part, boasting sufficient rose water and lychee impressions to challenge any self respecting Elzas Gewurtztraminer. Too bad for the hotness due to the high alcoholic content, and the bit of unpolished bitterness at the end, but again at that price point an impressive total package. — 9 years ago

Alsace Gewurztraminer 2012

Lychee town. Slight bitterness in finish. Could use some cellaring imo. Acids quite alright to balance sweetness. Classic Alsace Gewurtz. — 9 years ago
