Poggio Landi Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva 2016: Medium-bodied. Balanced tannins. Bright red fruits. Leather. Tobacco. Oak. Long elegant finish. All in all, this wine had an evolving flavor profile (as the evening progressed) and it ended as a very solid, very classic Brunello that left me very satisfied. A lovely selection & recommendation. Dinner w/Barbara Sandrone. This is the shizzle. Just a baby but so much promise. The acidity and tannins are crushing it. Finish is very long and the fruit digs in. I haven’t had many wines from this producer but am a solid fan now. — 6 years ago

Needs air at this young age but quickly hits its stride. Really fragrant, with zesty, ripe berries, spice, a yeasty, fresh bread note, and mineral-flecked turned gravel. Ok, again the soft but very rich tannins, ik like the silky ness of this great wine. It’s more open for me then La Vigne and Aleste and it’s a meaty, powerful wine!! For me it’s a great wine but out of my Leaque price wise. So after this great tasting for me it’s simple, the 2017 Barolo’s are great and more affordable for the most of us.
