Had this lovely Barton together with poyferre, same year. This one is more softer and smoother. Mid bodied with good balance, raspberry, dry stone and mint. It is good enough but not better than the perfect one -year of 2010 I had four months ago. — 8 years ago
Lovely secondary elements of sweaty saddle leather, cedar and later some cigar box. Soft, integrated tannins. Long finish and very nice nose. — 9 years ago
Popped 1 of my 3 bottles to celebrate two friends turning 50 at Factory Kitchen. 50 year old California Cab with finesse, balance, and though I wouldn't expect it to improve over time, it was fantastic and quintessential old school cab from without a doubt one of my favorite California producers. Just lovely! — 10 years ago
'Les Picasses' lies along a riverbank on a fairly steep slope that is primarily alluvial clay overlaying chalk and limestone. The vines are over 50 years old and the site is known to produce wines with fabulous purity and minerality. As such the Olga Raffault 'Les Picasses' Chinon 1989 has had time to mellow, the aromas are quite lovely—lavender, game, worn leather, a touch of barnyard, and cellar dust. There is a throaty, sensual wildness to this wine, punctuated by a vein of bright acidity and minerals. Everything I love in Loire Valley Cab Franc. — 11 years ago

Classic Cristal with Fine bead, lovely aroma of brioche, baked apple and almond and a from palate with crisp acidity, lemon shortbread, brioche and a hint of hazelnut. The cépage is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay but it is the Chardonnay that gives the wine its propulsion. Still youthful and vibrant with
stunning length. — 7 years ago

2001 vintage. Lovely youthful notes here. Still way too young. Plummy and mixed berries, some smokey oak, mulberries. On the palate, medium body, tannins are well integrated, hints of black pepper and nutmeg. White chocolate. Yummy despite its youthfulness. Open in 2025. — 10 years ago
Double mag pour, lots of life left in this bottle. Lovely integration of fruit and wood — 11 years ago
Glorious - great mouthfeel, lovely acid — 12 years ago
Dark fruit. Very broad and opulent. With a lot of air, the tannins have resolved. Still a bit of a monster of a wine but the fruit is intense and very pretty. Lovely stuff. — 7 years ago
Lovely fruit. Drinking well. Fades with time in the glass however — 10 years ago
