It lives up to it’s name. Though 2010 wasn’t the best year, probably the worst of this decade actually, this wine is still very drinkable and has stood this short test of time very well. Profile is dominated by the cab (37%) at this stage as the Merlot (40%) has faded a little. The Malbec and Petit Verdot making up the rest are subtle/hiding. Dark brambly berries/black cherry, faint cola notes, tobacco and wet stone/pencil shavings are the prominent flavors and aromas. It is probably good for at least a few more years. :) — 7 years ago
This burly beast has gained weight, incredibly, since last tasting. Lots of big brambly berry fruit, firm tannin, hints of asphalt, coffee grounds, and white pepper. Balanced, but lingering. Significant bottle life ahead, but as this wine has only existed since the '04 vintage, it's hard to guess the longevity. Drink or hold. — 8 years ago
Cos is a wine I have only tried a few times. A collector darling, most who collect it are fanatic only about Cos. Kind of like how Pittsburgh sports fans if you are familiar.
These were both exceptional. The 2000 showed some tertiary aspects in the nose, less so in the palate as a strong, tannic structure bolstered my thoughts of much further longevity than the nose hinted to. Flush with the firm and chewy tannin Saint-Estephe wines sport for more time than their southerly Medoc counterparts. Plenty of layered, savory and pristine black and red fruits fan out over the structure.
The 2005 is even more complex and dense and I would have to think will age at a glacial pace as this was just getting going from what I could tell as it was showing so young and tight.

Quite light for Côte-Rôtie. Smart and sophisticated with just enough red fruit to play along with the savory, umami character. Medium tannins and acidity and with plenty of remaining longevity. — 10 years ago
A little tight but showing good structure and promising longevity. Needs time. 2010 vintage — 10 years ago
Quality. GREAT QPR! Beautiful color. Nice fruit on the nose. Sweet, substantial tannins. Good longevity on the finish. A great value and a solid producer. — 11 years ago
Dried cherry, strawberry, persimmon and nice silky mouthfeel with good acidity. Tannins are pretty stout at the back end lending itself to definite longevity. — 12 years ago
Ok... I admit it... this straggler Spanish Albariño lost it’s way in my cellar. 10 years old for a grape not altogether known for longevity... what do I expect? Medium gold in the glass... clear...broken cork. Amazing aroma of pineapple, lychee, and peach. The wine is still alive.. still offering up bright acidity and round weighted fruit. Poured too cold, the aromas intensify as it warms. The wine is rich, round and complex...playing with your palate. I was prepared to dump, had a lessor wine at the ready. But... hell no. This wine rocks. Mr. Perez is often referred to as a trail-blazing maverick...what do I know. The wine is a wonder! — 6 years ago
Just enough tannin to cleanse the palette but a beautiful finish that leaves wonderful dark fruit and spice essence. Drank June, 2018. A slight amber ring can be seen in the glass. Will have longevity And I believe just become rounder. — 7 years ago
I like this better tonight than I did at the winery. Really easy drinking blend that has enough acid to work with food -- steak or lasagna would be great. But also great on its own. — 8 years ago
This 2011 vintage brilliant ruby in color, the intense, ripe aromas of berry fruit prelude a lush and full-bodied palate, gorgeous tannis and nice structure, good longevity. — 9 years ago
2004 is showing fleshy fruit but lacks backbone and structure and may not have great longevity. — 10 years ago
Really enjoying 2012 Chablis. Nice acid and longevity with the fruit. — 10 years ago

Dark color, good viscosity, lots of tannin and fruit with anise, hint of leather. Masculine wine with plenty of longevity. — 10 years ago
Smooth, drinkable - would pair well with anything. Had with a wonderful Italian meal.
Ruby wine club notes: The Cavallotto family claims sole ownership of the beautiful Bricco Boschis cru in the Castiglione Falletto district (also home to Azelia), where they have been growing Nebbiolo since 1929 and bottling their own wine since 1948. These richly structured wines place emphasis on elegance and longevity, attributable to excellent vineyards in the Bricco Boschis and Vignolo crus and traditional long maturation periods in large Slovenian-oak casks. After meeting and tasting with Winemaker and owner Alfio Cavallotto, I was incredibly impressed with his wines and thought his Dolcetto was one of the best I had tasted all year. This wine offers the crunchy red fruits for which Dolcetto is known for, with an element of licorice, and sandalwood. This Impressive effort will pair with just about anything, but it is highly fashionable with pasta and grilled meats. — 11 years ago

This really came into its own on the second night (on the first I decanted for an hour or so, but still felt quite austere). The wine shows no sign of its nine years of age, a fairly rustic expression of the (predominantly Merlot-based) blend with enough fruit to give it longevity. Very full, well balanced and enjoyable. Would enjoy revisiting in eight years. Even the ‘lesser’ wines from 2010 continue to impress. — 7 years ago
Smokey cedar and leather nose, dark berry and cassis flavors, lengthy finish. Wonderful now but great longevity ahead. — 7 years ago
Still young, but with balance and richness to suggest longevity. — 8 years ago
Rich and mature. Hmmm. Makes me second guess the sponti talk on Mosel rieslings - I reckon it's probably to do with SO2. Quite a bit younger than the german rieslings in our little study the other day, but so much more advanced. Or maybe it's the sugar that helps with longevity in the german stuff.
Waxy, honeyed, floral, petrol notes, with the green apple and pear fruit playing second fiddle. Hint of aldehydes. Mineral and weighty. It was delicious! — 9 years ago
Still a bit early to drink this one. Very little fruit on the nose even after some air time (subtle blackberry and cassis). Most present is the cracked pepper and earth. Hints of leather and strong acidity and tannins promise longevity. — 10 years ago
In a really nice place right now. Really great acidity that suggests more longevity but the fruit was really starting to dry out which makes me wonder... — 10 years ago
The longevity of P Michael Chardonnay never ceases to amaze me — 10 years ago
Excellent, excellent WA cabernet dominant blend; shows Margaret River's dominance of Australian cabernets; shows tobacco and black fruits flavours; undoubtedly now dry with a tannin backbone rarely found in Oz cabernet; then juicy, taut acids too to show further longevity; drink til 2025; little colour dropoff — 11 years ago

Deep Ruby - dark for a Pinot Noir. Dense, very rich - dark cherry and spices. Medium plus bodied palate. Amazing to say it is latent for an 8 year old Pinot but I have had Freycinet Pinots that are 15 years old - they are made with longevity in mind. So rich it could have come from Central Otago. Leave the last one for at least another 3 years. — 5 years ago
