One of the best wines I’ve had in a while. Cidery and almost toeing the line of bruised apple. Later morphed and really became full of stone fruit. Apricots and canned peaches. This wine is alive. Just consume it over a few hours and watch it change in the glass. — 7 years ago

Upon recommendation from the wine ship guy, i opened this 2-3 hours before tasting, which was good, except for tge fact that it got too warm. I popped it back in the fridge for 20 minutes and then it was perfect. Very fruit forward and fresh with a nice structure despite its youth (2017 tasted in August 2019). Reticent on both nose and palate for 1st hour. Both unfurl with air. Meat, black fruit, floral on nose. Expands in glass. Palate fills out: nice whack of salty earth, iron, meat, black cherry. Buoyed by ripe tannins and sneaky acidity. No hurry here, but a very satisfying 2006. Re-buy, enthusiastically. — 11 years ago

2009. Some rich cherry liqueur from the vintage, some interesting cut grass notes in the palate along with big time fruit. Nose gives up a lot of leather--goes in different directions like Bordeaux or aged Portuguese reds with Touriga Nacional. Quite nice! — 10 years ago
