2008, Domaine Vincent Ricard, Les Trois Chenes, Touraine, Sauvignon Blanc. One of my favorite SB. A little past it's prime but still has lots of primary citrus. I was delighted to find Maison Bleue's tasting room in downtown Walla Walla on my last visit, and even more surprised to taste the Domaine J. Meuret Les Chênes Pinot Noir 2013, the inaugural vintage of this label, all of which are single vineyard wines made by Jon Meuret. The quality is outstanding—expressing pie cherries, cranberries, morels and sweet leaf tobacco which fall well below perfumy rose petals and fragrant dried mint. It's weightless and light, with an understory of fine tannins lending structure to grace. — 8 years ago
