An absolute baby, yet to even stretch its legs. Orange cake drizzled in sugar syrup, fig and some bready notes too. Big mouthfeel and quite expansive on the palate. — 9 years ago
A true treasure, this golden age oldie offers layer of complex dried fruit flavors, wonderful herbaceous notes, resolved tannins, still marked with a Rutherford Bench dusty signature. Very elegant and believe it or not; almost Bdx in style. — 10 years ago

Could use a little age. That said, cake read large format is always a good go to vine. Suit is noticeable up front and pretty smooth finish. Not quite subtle yet as too young but holds its own. — 11 years ago

A perfect bottle! With four and a half hours in the decanter this wine provides an emotional response. Balanced, integrated, multi layer complexity, long finish, it has it all. I suspect my previous bottles had not quite this time in the decanter before being served. Dinner itself was a slow two hour affair and the wine was brilliant throughout! — 8 years ago
