You can tell this is a quintessential Bordeaux from a mile away. A solid backbone of fruit quickly gives way to tons of funky music - mushroom, olive, wet earth, and awesomeness. Medium-bodied; smooth. The finish is long, loamy, and mouth-puckering. A sleeper - this is seriously underrated. You can find it for around $20. Just got it at Costco. Stock up. — 8 years ago

Great finish. — 10 years ago
Wow. This is really fantastic. Straight Rye Whiskey. — 10 years ago
Way too early but found this on the cheap at Costco. Wanted to beta test. Recommendation: stock up. Blackberry fruit is quickly overtaken by bacon fat, iron, tobacco, leather, and floral flavors. The tannins remain strong, if not astringent, providing ample backbone suggesting this can easily go another 15 years. Buyer beware: this needs to be your thing. — 8 years ago
A delicious wine! The 2009 is rich and intense. Tons of cherries and spice. Sustains forever. Enjoyed on a friend's roof that overlooks the New York Stock Exchange - quite the location. — 8 years ago
2015 Kutch Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. I think we all know Jamie's story, stock trader turned winemaker, so I'll not repeat it here. Suffice it to say that I lived vicariously through him for years as he apprenticed with Michael Browne and then graduated to his own label. A nicer man you will never meet ( and he knows a thing or two about Porsche as well). Expressive nose of cherries, plums, menthol and forest floor. The palate is slightly sweet with cherries, black raspberry, clove and a touch of oak and brambles. In recent years, Jamie has progressed away from the big, over-the-top, high alcohol Pinots currently dominating the California market. This wine has an earthy, Burgundian character with mouth-watering acidity and smooth tannins. 12.9% alcohol. I see your vision Jamie @kutchwines and I'm still interested in that 912.) — 8 years ago
V13. Nice value, nice wine. Smokey black cherry licorice bouquet. Rich, full bodied, blackberry, peppery fruit. Nice mineral finish. Recommend decanting 30-45 minutes. — 9 years ago
New vintage just out. Stellar as always. More fruit-forward than the 2012, but still sharp, balanced and interesting. Blackberry and roasted meat nicely complimented by pepper and coffee notes. The finish is short, but memorable. $10 at Trader Joes. Stock up if you can find. — 10 years ago
Delicious! Creamy and complex with notes of coffee and chocolate and so much more. Sadly there must be corn in the mash because I have an allergic reaction. — 10 years ago
Beautiful fruit that perfectly balanced the tannins. — 10 years ago
Probably my most favorite! Not inexpensive at restaurants ($65-$76), but pairs so well with just about anything. Year after year it is consistently great. It's hard not to share it, but then you must keep multiple bottles in stock! — 11 years ago
Best Pinot noir I've had yet. Smooth, yet strong tannins — 13 years ago
Very hot on the nose. cinnamon and caramel. Cut with a few drops of water and richness comes through. Amazingly long finish. Top notch. — 8 years ago
Still the best value in NV Chardonnay Grand Cru Champagne. So delicious! If you haven’t had it, K&L just got in another shipment of Launois. They have in stock two of Grand Crus and 08 Special Club. Get it in the next coupe or three days before it’s gone. You’ll thank me when you have it. — 8 years ago
Fruity and refreshing. Plummy and berries. Medium body. — 9 years ago
Best rum ever. I love every cocktail or recipe I've used with it ever. And even tho it burns straight, I prefer it to vodka — 10 years ago
Fantastic. Just the perfect amount of oak. Easy drinking, love the oily quality on the palate, ever so slightly sweet but still completely dry. Very round flavor. — 10 years ago
Perfect with red pastas, sautéed crimini mushrooms, and even meaty pizzas. Because of the affordable price, I will probably stock up. I now understand why it is always sold out on this app. — 10 years ago
My local gas station always has this wine in stock - my go to wine that I pick up after a rough day of work. Makes me feel better, lol — 11 years ago
Dark plum color. Uninteresting nose. Plum flavors. Sweet, but not cloying. Light balanced tannins and acidity. Full flavor without being heavy. Very easy to drink. I really like this wine. — 12 years ago
The rich penetrating ruby, '08 Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon reminded me why I used to stock my cellar with Napa wines. Layered aromas of cassis, licorice, grilled herbs and cedar pummel the nose. A firm backbone of lively tannins lift the spicy dark fruit flavors to a persistent lush and sweet finish. Quite seductive! — 12 years ago

As a half Virginian, I try to stock up every vintage of the octagon, not only because of being the home pride, but also her quality year after year. This one is no exception. Color is different shades of purple, with mix of deep ruby. Nose is densely fragrant, with ripe cherry, sugarplum, dill and clove, nutty oaks, aldehyde, and some more dried strawberries. Taste shows another layer of complexity with tobacco leaves, milk chocolate, and some residual sweetness and subtle acidity. Oaky note follows. Tannins however is marginal. Aftertaste is some more chocolate with a bit mineral, and some more juicy grape sweetness with some touch of peppery flavors and acidity. I will not keep the vintage for long as she is quite peaked at the moment. — 7 years ago
