Merlot dominated LdP offering creamy lush fruits, good freshness and tertiary notes shining through now. Wine gained complexity and length over the past 2 years. — 5 months ago
Vintage 2009 | This is a Pomerol with a certain strictness. We tasted it blind next to a left bank wine but the tasters did not recognize this as a right bank wine. It seems to be made for the long haul, with clear tannines even after 15 years. Good integrated wood with a light vanilla impression. — 7 months ago

Medium ruby with quite narrow garnet rim . Quite rich and round on the nose , blackberry , cassis , touch of chocolate , coffee and dark cherry , red plum . Touch of warmth noticable . On the palate this is quite rich also with juicy dark fruits , blackberry , cassis , dark plum and a touch of grafite and cocoa , dry spice stained finish . Rounded sweet tannin and just balanced acidity . Only ok length , ends perhaps a little flat and overall could do with a little more freshness . Drinking well now , but will continue to show well over the next 5-10 years — 2 months ago
A lot of fruit. Lacking structure — 4 months ago
I decanted for sediment and allowed to breathe for a couple of hours prior to serving double-blind to my friends. The 1966 Chateau Nenin pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core moving out to a slightly amber rim; medium viscosity with no obvious staining of the tears but there is some sediment. On the nose (and oh what a nose it is!), the wine is vinous with a beautiful combination of ripe and desiccated fruits: notes of ripe plums, brambles, purple flowers, pipe tobacco, fennel, baking spices, iron rich earth and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+, soft and the texture is thin. One of those wow experiences. The room was all over the place with their calls: Spain, Australia, USA, Italy and France with most expecting 20-30 years of age. None were particularly surprised when it was revealed to be Pomerol. All were stunned when they learned it was a ‘66. Evergreen. Drink now with a two hour decant and well stored examples have years of life left — 6 months ago
Deep ruby, smells of plum, clay, damp vegetation, leather, cedar. High acidify, smooth tannins — 8 months ago
2008 vintage still has lots of life. Nice grip from the tannins, earth and dark fruit. Great flavor. — 9 years ago
On the nose is blueberry, plum and dark berries and dark cherry. On the palate medium body, soft tannins, and currant which fades into a very long, nice blueberry finish. — 10 years ago
So smooth already. — 12 years ago

Delish with dinner at a great historic place. — 3 months ago
Wow a treat! Color is a dark beautiful cranberry. On the nose: essence of dark fruit and sweet floral jump from the glass with primary notes of roasted meat, wet forest floral and subtle chocolate mint. Taste: silky smooth and luscious coating the palate with red fruit, cedar, earthy soil, crushed rock and minerals with a medium plus spice dark chocolate finish. Yummy for sure and wonderful way to start off the first Friday of the new year!! — 4 months ago
Dark cherry red with a bit transparent aged color edge. Chocolate nuance. Oak, leather. Vanilla. Spices. Earthy. Black berry and cherry. Prone. Tabacco. With elegancy. Dry. Lots of Tannin. Spicy. Slight sweet. Need to decant it for hours or keep it for more years. It should be 9.0. 13 @900, TPAP, 241001-2401002 — 7 months ago
— 10 months ago

It’s not amazing but it’s good. I’ve gotten used to heavier wines, this is light on its feet but feels smooth on the palate. Not huge, maybe even a bit subdued but it’s exactly what the night called for. — 2 months ago
