Light, clean, cherry. Delicious. — 8 years ago
Supremely elegant. A bit young, in hindsight should have waited. But loved it all the same. — 8 years ago
I am generally a Moscato fan. The earlier reviewer commented that this had little depth after the first taste, and I agree with that. You get the sugary flavor, but none of the pine needles and honey of something little the La Spinetta. — 9 years ago
Current release. Aged 10 years at the winery. — 10 years ago
had in Amalfi.
Also make a good Chardonnay. — 11 years ago
Interesting. A Giorgio Rivetti/La Spinetta Fernet.
Nose reminds me of Branca , but palate is deceptively light and almost thin. Interesting, but didn't work for me. — 11 years ago
At Ape wine bar. Very good. — 6 years ago
Still drinking really well — 6 years ago
Tar and dark berries, reminiscent of Spinetta Barbaresco, but with a lot less structure. — 7 years ago
Perfect for a hot summer evening. Sipping and waiting for a good friend for dinner. Been too long! — 8 years ago
Oak and stainless aging combines to bring out the best qualities of Sauvignon Blanc. Tropical fruit, mineralty, and ripping acidity. Wish more of this came to the US. — 8 years ago
Reminds me of Charles Spinetta Chenin Blanc or Muscat. Bought at Taste of Pismo. June 2016. — 9 years ago
Hijt of dried black cherry, dark chocolate, hint of oxidation, lots of fresh leather aromas. Med p body, med p acid, med p tannin, fruit on forward but bitterness follows. Well balanced, long finish with concentrated red cherries. Delicious. — 9 years ago
Expected this one to be DOA, but this was a really nice elegant old zin from the Eschen Vineyard. Dusty spicy old vine zin fruit in the best way possible. This is what CA wines should be all about. — 10 years ago
5% colorino in the Sangiovese here and this wine shows nice development — 12 years ago
Wonderful and unusual 65/35 blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera. Ready to drink. — 7 years ago
Really dark, very fruity, nice tannins — 7 years ago
Medium ruby red with brick colored rim. Rose petals, cherry, leather, and hints of tar are evident on the nose. Dense red fruit on the palate with nice minerality, prominent fine grained tannins, and long finish. This wine, made by famed Barolo producer Giorgio Rivetti at his La Spinetta winery for his friend Ezio Cocito, is drinking very well right now. — 8 years ago
Drinking an excellent Sangiovese while eating good pizza is Tuscany la dolce vita. Good acidity, tobacco, dried cherry. I liked the 2004 just a bit better, though this is still a top shelf wine. The wine is actually too good for pizza but what the heck. — 9 years ago
Aromatic, not too sweet, full body and refreshing — 9 years ago
Very sweet and refreshing — 10 years ago
