The 2017 Barolo del Commune di Monforte d’Alba is a gorgeous, beguiling wine. Readers will find a Barolo that expresses all of the balsamic, spiced character typical of Ginestra Barolos but without the heft that can make some wines forbidding. Transparent, gracious and super-expressive, Conterno's 2017 is all class. Don't miss it. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2021)

White blend from Tremonti, Campania. 40% Biancatenera, 40% Ginestra, 20% Pepella. Very old vineyard with mother plant 200-300+ years old. Strong Tramontana winds, pergola vine system. Aged 6 months in steel. Organic. 12% alcohol. — 6 years ago
Delicious, but probably better in a decade. — 7 years ago
Powerful, acidic, tannic, tingling — 6 years ago
Best wine I’ve had in a while! — 7 years ago
Falanghina, Ginestra, and Pepella. Pineapple jolly rancher, overripe peach, lemon/lime flesh, banana candy, gingerbread, wh fl, vegetal, m+ phen, high acid, long finish. The Pepella and Ginestra make this feel like the best Falanghina ive had! Bomboclat!! — 8 years ago
A nice sparkling dry wine. — 5 years ago
It may lead with VA and reduction but that animal energy—it’s a turn on, particularly once I braced myself and sipped and the acetaldehyde (bruised apples and hay anyone?) gave way to white peppered honeydew melon. Those tannins borne of skin contact hold you down in just the right way. It is kinetic. It is not elegant but brutally graceful in its irreverence. It cares not about you, but is so compelling you care not, you’re along for the ride. — 5 years ago

Tried at l'attache. Wonderful wine paired well with their tartare au couteau! — 6 years ago
Very tannic bordering on alcohol upfront. Finished smooth. Had with 80 day aged ribeye at L’Etoile in Madison, WI. — 7 years ago
