Lots of potential to go higher here with more time in the bottle. On a Faugeres kick this weekend. Where Barral was more dense and powerful, the Fantine is the female version with more elegance and poise, with a firm backbone of tannin and juicy acidity. Wild flavors of violets, licorice, spice with blueberry and blackberry fruit. Darker but more elegant fruit character intensity. A long finish that tightens up some on the end. #faugeres #fantine — 10 years ago

Rosé of Chenançon - a new variety to me. From the Languedoc. Nice bright fruit & some minerality, $13 from Garagiste. — 12 years ago

This is Domaine la Sarabande 2011 effort from Faugeres, it is a deliciously complex mix of Grenache, carignan and Syrah- lovely dark brambly fruit and spice, great balance and outclasses any CNDP at its price level by a street! Cracking ! — 10 years ago
Very good indeed! Has had it lying in the cellar for eight years and it has become superbly integrated. Remember it being tannic in 2007 but thought it would come around well - it certainly has! Lots of secondary developmental flavours, dried ripe black berries and good solid length. Will easily last for another ten years - shows the strength and longevity of Good Faugeres! — 10 years ago
Nothing says Faugeres like Didier Barral. Wild child! Herbs, spice and a spot of fruit. — 11 years ago

Dark fruited and rich, with good spice and earth notes. Pretty classic #faugeres — 10 years ago
Stunningly pure and varietal/terroir driven wine. This is quite characterful with blackberry, kirsch, then sweet mint, garrigue, licorice and violets highlight the fruit. An expressive nose, the aromatics are deep and layered. The palate flavors are similarly expressive and layered with med acidity, medium+ tannin and a crazy long finish. **$20** #faugeres #carignan — 10 years ago
My favourite wine from Le Fete de Saint Jean this year. A great, big fruity hand grande of a wine. It explodes all over the palette with spices, elegant fruit and well balanced, velvety (but nonetheless structured) tannins. Modern Faugeres with a defined link to the tradition and terroir of the region. A serious contender both locally and internationally. I look forward to experiencing it develop over the next few decades. Small production (2000 bottles) and only made in the best years, from selected parcels, so will have to go back for more while it lasts. — 10 years ago
Yum. It's as sexy as the label promises. Leo Vareille "Tonnerre de Dieu" 2012 Faugeres. First bottle bought for a friends dinner party, the next two for us! — 10 years ago
QPR is off the charts. Awesome wine. Best producer in Faugeres for sure, but maybe in all of Languedoc. — 12 years ago

One of the better wine values out there for quality, character and price combination, #closfantine is certified organic and biodynamic #carignan and #grenache from #faugeres in the #Languedoc-Roussillon in southwestern France inland from the Mediterranean.
A blend of mostly Carignan and Grenache, with small amounts of Cinsault and Syrah. 75% destemmed and 25% whole bunches; élevage takes place in concrete vats for about 1.5-2 years. — 10 years ago
