Lighter vs the Hundertgulden. More pomelo & lemon. Less reduction, a touch shy. Stonier, too.
Ascetic & linear on the palate with racy juicy acidity. Salty minerality, exotic spice. What length! Wow. Racy yet so drinkable. Wow!! One of the highlights in ‘22! — 2 years ago

So fresh & clean, with white peach & ripe lemons and chalky minerality underneath. Shows a hint of roundness which works brilliantly well with the zippy acidity.
Super fresh on the palate, juicy, with nice electric tension - fresh lemons, a hint of herbiness, zingy acidity. Nice depth here and great flow. Delightful. — a month ago
Knewitz Appenheimer Riesling Kalkstein 2012
Lots of minerality, high acidity, very long finish. Great wine for small money.... — 11 years ago
What a brilliant nose!! Aromatic, exotic, even erotic. More like than lemon, ripe apples, honeydew melon, underripe pineapple, a bit smoky. And yet, cool, fresh, with a mineral edge. Very seductive & enticing.
Beautiful presence on the palate. A touch of creamy breadth, a hint of tannin, fresh juicy acidity and really nice depth. The fruit not overly present, just the sensation of freshness & energetic tension.
Wow! Drinking beautifully right now.

Knewitz Chardonnay Holzfass 2019
Aged in used barriques and from a brilliant vintage this is a stunner!
Cool & focused on the nose with some popcorn reduction, fine herbs, a touch of toasted nuts and faint exotic fruit in the background. Enticing!
But the real magic happens on the palate - precision, depth, an electric tension between the creamy mouthfeel and the juicy, racy, mineral acidity. The limestone minerality bites through. This just begs for another sip!
Notes of sesame, fine herbs, exotic fruit - the wood adding a touch of nutty weight in the backdrop. So finely integrated. And the mineral edge towards the v. long finish
Complex yet not complicated. Elegant. Delicious. — 4 years ago

Unreal lightness with poise & surprising finesse. In an entry level wine!
Look at the colour!!
Wild strawberries, raspberries, a touch of orange peel, with a flowery whiff and a hint of spice. There’s a touch of undergrowth, too - which I’m sure will develop over time.
So fresh & enticing.
Light on the palate, silky, with juicy acidity. Def on the fruitier side and perhaps a touch too sweet on the fruit. Lacks a bit of depth but the precision & purity are wow.
I always loved their Rieslings, but this Pinot really kicks ass!
Wow, for this price point, just wow. — 15 hours ago
