Color : White
Wine estate : Louis Bovard
Designation : Saint-Saphorin
Name : Salix Chenin Blanc
Country : Switzerland
Vivino : 4.5/5
Note : The Salix from Bovard is beautiful! A light yellow silky robe and a nose of citrus fruits, pears and apples accompanied by a slight mineral touch. On the palate, Salix is gourmet, tasty, long and refreshes us. A taste as an aperitif, eating or even alone, it will always make you happy.

Very good. Fruit forward and a little sweet. Not quite jammy but getting there. — 5 years ago
Serious cider for serious drinkers... the combination between the apples and noble smoky wood made my day. Fermented to perfection. Dry, tart and smoky with a clean and refreshing finish. It taste like ancient wisdom got thirsty. Can’t get much better than this... IMPERATIVE!!! # To serve, we splash it into the glass, pouring from a very long distance so the cider aerates — if you let it linger too long in the glass, the aeration gets lost and the cider won’t be enjoyable to drink. — 6 years ago
I had the ‘16 vintage of this a few months back in comparison to the Ron Yates SB. I thought the ‘16 was nice, but that the Ron Yates SB was better in every aspect. @Ron Yates told me, in his opinion, the ‘17 Spicewood was better than both the ‘16 Spicewood and the Ron Yates ‘16.
It’s 103 here in TX, and I’m sweating more than this bottle, so it’s prime SB weather.
I’m happy to report that I think I’m aligned with Ron here. In comparison to the Spicewood ‘16, the aromatics on this just jump out of the glass with tons of fruit. Kiwi, lychee, and peach...wow! Great nose. Sharp acidity highlighted by honeyed grapefruit, limestone and chalk. Well done, Ron! — 6 years ago
Really like this one. Sweet enough but too much. — 6 years ago

Very dry white from the Basque Country in Spain. Often drunk out of a Porron pitcher. Had it with pan-seared swordfish...outstanding combination. — 5 years ago
Very pleasant Texas Malbec. Consider it a solid red table wine. — 5 years ago
Texas wines have grown. This is an outstanding blend of Grenache Syrah and Mourvèdre from Salt Lick Vineyard. This is a complex wine with great structure and finesse. Great to see the Lone Star State wines mature and compete in the world stage. Visited the Fall Creek Vineyards. Well worth it can’t get it retail because of the limited production but can get it online. New release of the 2016 vintage. Excellent! — 6 years ago
We enjoyed this. Just drinking, no pairing. — 6 years ago
2015 vintage : sweet on the palate with suttle smokiness at the end. Smooth and easy to drink. — 6 years ago
Yum! Smooth red wine blend :) — 7 years ago
Crystal clear, smooth with soft taste and slight floral flavor. I consider it excellent for the first Texas wine I have had! Wonderful with halibut and grilled tomatoes. Will buy more. Not at all sweet but is crisp. — 7 years ago
