Burgundian German. Blend of vintages and vineyards!?
Lovely and complex. — 10 years ago
Very subtle and complex which is typical of the Pinot Noir grape. This was a silver award winner in 2014 at the International Wine Challenge in Vienna. — 11 years ago
Crisp and fresh from Baden — 12 years ago
I am growing to enjoy these German reds more and more. This is a 2010 12.5% Spätburgunder with tastes of fruit and (some) liquorice. A present from Baden Württemberg. — 12 years ago
Excellent wine our friend Nick, the somm at Katz Orange, picked out for our meal there. — 10 years ago
The typical German pinot noir stinkyness, but quite pleasant on the palate. Soft, harmonious, some sweetness. Bought for cooking Boeuf Bourguignon. — 10 years ago
Enjoyable and easy drinking. Going in the pairing tonight — 11 years ago
Full bod, balanced acidity, floral and cool crisp orchard fruits. I had it with Hamour and clams --- dee•lish!!! — 12 years ago
Oberrotweiler Spätburgunder trocken "RAPPEN"1999, WG SALWEY — 12 years ago
Drinking German wine in Cologne - it could be worst, I guess...
On the nose, grapefruit, gooseberries and limes. Very refreshing on the palette. Well, delineated expression consisting of key limes, lemon sorbet with a hint of lemon meringue. Great acid structure and minerality which pulls the whole ensemble together. It finishes with tension. Maybe it's just my context, but I'm really enjoying this with my sushi.
