Brut Souverain Champagne

Buttered popcorn on the nose. Green apple lots of citrus. With buttered popcorn jelly bellies on the palate. Once this opens up it had a nice brioche nose as well. Very nice acidity as well. — 12 years ago

'04. Love the overall Alsatian-ness of this wine. Searing Riesling acid, but with ripe apricot and tangerine jelly, cheddar cheese, salt, powdered stone, mushroom, hay, yellow flower perfume and the ginger of botrytis. Has that tart but fat quality that Alsace does so well. Great now, but definitely more than a few years in it. — 12 years ago
