$25 at the local store does not start to do any justice for this beast of a wine. Daou is a medium to heavy Cabernet that spells of dark ripe sex fruit. Blackberry, blueberry, black courrant...oh fucking my! After tasting Daou's zesty finish, one will require the jaws of life to unlock purple lips from this delectable monster. — 9 years ago
Looking at the decanter made my heart rate step up a few beats as I saw the most beautiful translucent wine. (I apologize for not including a filled glass in the picture) The first sniff told me all I needed to know that this was a winner . Beautiful scents of roses, red cherries and mushrooms that increased in intensity during the 5 hours it spent in the decanter. In the mouth the holy grail for me, great complexity combined with freshness. Red fruit , tobacco balsamic and leather all playing together. Just imagine the greatest symphony performed by the greatest orchestra. I am sure emotion played into my score. Served blind but many guessed Nebbiolo however when they saw the vintage their jaws hit the floor. — 8 years ago
Let it sit for 10 minutes before drinky time begins...dark fruits, strawberries, cranberries on the front with lingering balanced acidity on the back. Very good Pinot for watching Jaws 2 on a Friday night...I think they used wine for blood in that movie? — 9 years ago
Yet another example of a great winemaker pulling a victory from the jaws of '11 Napa death. The 2nd wine of Brand, Brio, is so good. Black fruit. Dominated by a range of raw and roasted cocoa bean flavours, right to the good acid. Judicious oaky vanilla. Drinking super nicely now. @Greg Gregory a superb host and leading a phenomenal team. The view's not bad either! — 9 years ago

I love the color of this wine. Deep neon purple. Soft tannins and so easy to drink. You could sit on the couch all day with this while watching Jaws or The Martian. @Todd Abrams told me he thought it was great idea and would do the same. — 8 years ago
