From Haskell’s box. Our first red Bordeaux, from Cadillac AOC Bordeaux region, which is right bank. Website says 60% Merlot 20% cab 20% Franc. Seemed a bit thin vs New World Cabs, but had softened tannins, dark fruit, early tawny color. will compare to other Merlots and to left bank claret later. D liked. W said ok. — 2 years ago

Violet, plum, vanilla and cosmic. Roses. Slight sweet. Berries. Concentration. Balanced acidity and spiciness. David Renaud Irancy Vaupessiot 19 @3850, Umem, 241121-241126 — a year ago
If you’re sleeping on wines from Irancy, it’s time to wake up. Irancy servers up wines of character. Fairly complex wines that are so easy to drink. Cherries of all persuasions, black raspberry, rhubarb, along with baking spices, nice acidity and structure make this wine worth exploring. — 4 years ago

From a minuscule plot that covers barely more than an acre; this is one of Vincent Dauvissat’s rare red wines. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The 2022 Irancy pours a slightly dull, ruby color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, fresh and funky notes of strawberry with stems, red flowers, and a mix of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. A round and balanced expression of Irancy. No doubt the vintage comes into play. Lovely stuff with charming personality. Drink now through 2037. — 2 months ago
