Golden, almost light copper in the glass. Barnyard, flinty nose with a touch of grapefruit. Lemongrass and roasted endive flavors. Dry and brassy. Your mother in law will crinkle her nose and wonder where her vanilla and oak is, but you'll smile and down another oyster and a bite of goat cheese. — 6 years ago
Refreshing summer wine. Not too sweet. Pineappley! — 7 years ago
Wild. Complex. Aromatic. Alive. Quaffable. This wine tasted like a paradox, a paradox I immediately want to open another bottle of. — 7 years ago
Nice and light with pleasant lemon tones. Perfect reasonably priced Italian wine to have with your Italian meal. — 7 years ago
Tasted October 2013 being at Sicily)
Tender and fresh pale straw colored Vivera Altrove originated from volcanic soils of Corleone. It combines zesty acidity and freshness, smoothness and crispness. Brilliant kaleidoscope of citrus flavors on the nose accompanied by rich notes of ripe pears and white flowers. Pears vs lime/lemon game continues on palate, complicated with shadow of volcanic minerals. Light slowly vanishing finish.
Was great with mussels au gratin, scampi and swordfish pasta. Can't wait to enjoy it again. — 8 years ago
