This beautiful Toro wine is dark, deep and delicious. The Tinto de Toro grapes - Tempranillo elsewhere - make a wine of such a deep indigo that no light comes through it. Aromas abound, like blackberry, cassis, anise and vanilla. The flavors run along those same lines, with big, jammy fruit and a tarry understroke. Acidity is spot-on and the tannins are plenty firm without being a distraction. — 7 years ago
Almost indigo like a petit Syrah . Mellow tannins, tobacco, dried figs. Good acid. 2005. — 8 years ago
There are expensive chardys coming from Beechworth, but not all of them
The quality of the fruit is superb, well over the average of the country
Stylistically they use oak, but thanks to the flesh of the wines it is less prominent than what the classic oaked chardys were
In this case we have a little extraction of colour from the skins.
I like it, it has got a wonderful feel in my mouth
Beechworth is not only Giaconda. That's a good news☺️☺️ — 8 years ago
Deep indigo color, light aroma, high astringency, lasting black pepper spice aftertaste, boisenberry blackberry, other dark berry flavors, full body, smooth texture, fantastic bottle of wine. Would recommend for a fancier than normal occasion — 9 years ago
Some heavy hitting on Monday night with Domaine Brin’s “Vendemia”. Mostly Duras with some Fer servadou and Merlot blended in. From SW France, this is a bit unyielding similar to the neighboring wines in Cahors. Dark & loaded with cracked pepper notes, this needs to open up a bit, but the future will be delicious. The record from Circuit Des Yeux, titled- Finding Indigo had a similar effect. It demands your undivided attention to hear the haunting interplay between the soaring vocals and meticulously nuanced arrangements.

Pretty aromatics with black and red berries. Same to taste with coffee and raw meat. Good acidity too but it all ends a bit abruptly. — 9 years ago
This is why Napa Cabernet brings the big bucks. Inky in the glass with indigo trim, the wine smells of a thousand different feelings at once. Cassis, blackberry, pencil shavings, cedar, vanilla. The palate is just as complex, just as delightful. Very dark fruit goes hand-in-hand with minerals and oak spice. The tannic structure is firm enough to make a vegetarian want a steak. Quite a trick, because, as I understand it, it’s bacon they crave. — 9 years ago
Dark purple/ruby red, moving to light indigo/brick on the edge, no sediment. Medium viscosity. Beautiful cooked, stewed ripe cherries, blackberries, and strawberries on the nose. Palette sees lots of sweetness on the nose, vanilla, sweet tobacco, some bitterness and stems. Medium mouthfeel, medium+ tannins, medium finish. A nice, solid blend, just wish there was more complexity in palette and a longer finish. — 9 years ago
F Me Wine. Huh. Yup, this has me. Tobacco and oaky lovey goodness. Nothing about this wine says boring steady solid Barbera. It says, "Hey baby, let's make sweet sweet complex indigo berrilicious over and over grape love." And then you can't remember anything that is or was before. So Good. Can easily become my go-to over Macchia Mischievous. — 8 years ago
This is an indigo-black wine, with nose that shows a lot more tar than the 2004 does. Savory notes abound. The palate offers firm tannins, but nothing scary. Blackberry fruit comes off as if it’s been trampled underfoot and gets an overlay of spice rack. It finishes long and savory. — 8 years ago
