Medium lemon color with pronounced aromas of fresh toast, lemon curd, straw, blossom and beeswax. High acidity with toast, beery malt, lemon and a hint of coconut continuing on the long finish. A striking, unique wine that would be terrific with grilled fish, smoked fish, lobster and scallops. With this much age it’s bit robust for oysters, but younger, more lemony, versions would be beautiful with bivalves — 6 years ago
Outstanding mid aged Hunter Semillon. Extremes fresh, crisp and very, very good. Great life. - Phil Laffer — 7 years ago
Too much of everything but failed to come to balance — 8 years ago
Surprised me with how much fruit was on the palate for a wine of its age. Opened up beautifully — 8 years ago
A highly awarded Hunter Shiraz now blooming at 10 years still with a good future. Showing riper berry notes than is typical for the Hunter but still with earthy mineral notes. Good score for the price. 18- — 9 years ago

No oak. What the fuck?! Waxy, oaky (if possible), almost nutty. Sublime. — 6 years ago
Awesome! Bright fruit, balanced acidity, nice length, for the price this is a great wine. It's also lighter than a lot of their Aussie Shiraz, not so heavy. — 8 years ago

So perfect
You have the fruit, the mineral (my God the searing, tingling mineral of this wine 🙏), the complexity of a developed Meursault(🙃), the length of a great wine and the enjoyment you rarely find in any of your activities
Definitely at peak, but it might stay in this stage for a while

I'm not typically a fan of off-dry reds, but this is exceptionally delicious! — 8 years ago

What a stunning wine- bright medium lemon, crisp acidity and a glorious nose of apple, lemon, flint, smoke and just a hint of herbs. Beautiful balance and a long finish - this is a marvelously elegant triumph of wine making. Fabulous with food or on its own. Dazzling — 5 years ago
