Light lemon colour . Beeswax , lemongrass , lemon peel on the nose. On the palate good body, with lemon and lime notes , beeswax and a herbaceous tinge . Still fresh acidity , this comes across as really quite young still, without the honied, toasty notes you expect with age . Still quite light on its feet, elegant and relatively lean . The length is ok , and perhaps lacks a little intensity on the mid palate , but for the basic Semillon this shows well . Drink now and over the next 10 years — 3 months ago
No formal notes. Quite rich , grassy and waxy but still lots of lime and lemon character . Quite taught , mostly lean lime and lemon , beeswax character fruit on the palate . Long and detailed on the finish with a toasty touch . Great intensity . Needs time , still quite primary , I would expect this will improve over the next 10-15 years and last well a further 10 @ Brokenwood Winery , Hunter Valley — 3 months ago
Great wine. Just enough fruit left but seems a touch past its prime. — 5 months ago
Oak, lime like herb in aroma. Rich, citrus, white flowers. Citrus, comfortable acidity. Each factor in the taste is showing the feature clearly. From Hunter valley which is an initial place for wine in Australia. Vat 47 Hunter Chardonnay Tyrrell’s 2018 @7546, Toscany JH, 231028-231111 — 7 months ago

Smooth and plummy, earthy. — 5 years ago
No formal notes. Bright bright ruby colour , pink rim . Quite high toned red fruit with a touch of smoked spice on the nose , attractive and inviting . Strawberry , red plum , raspberry , orange rind and black pepper on the palate , mirroring the nose . Very good depth , rounded , velvety but noticeable tannins . Good fresh acidity, detailed and precise on the palate . Saline touch on the long finish with balanced alcohol. This is at the beginning of a long life , though it’s quality is clear . Even better in 10 years and last a further 10-15 — 3 months ago
See previous note from June 2019. Red florals, spice (cinnamon and nutmeg) and a little pepper. More Syrah than Shiraz if you know what I mean. The medium +bodied palate showing red and blue fruits with savoury spices. Clonakilla is very much more known for their stellar Shiraz/Viognier ( the best Cuvée of that blend in Australia). However this 100% Syrah is a wonderful expression. I’m considering the current release. Next bottle in a few years. — 5 months ago

On the bolder side, in a good way. — 3 months ago
Another favourite Australian Red but this 2014 vintage not showing as well as it normally does. I put it down to the vintage. Aromatically it is spicy but subdued; digging deeper there is earth and clove with herbs. With time, meaty aromas emerge. Perhaps more time will reveal more and provide more depth on the palate. — 3 months ago
Quite light with green tinges . Pretty taught on the nose , intense with lemon , lime , almost a struck match note to this . Intense and tight on the palate , touch of beeswax with the lemon and lime notes . High fresh acidity , though with enough body to cover the bones , lovely balance . This is still really young , but very promising . Come back in 10 years , will last well a further 10-15. — 3 months ago
Medium gold green colour . Green and grassy on the nose , blackcurrant leaf, after a while some lemon confit notes and beeswax. On the palate nice round , lemon , white peach , greengage notes , medium bodied , you wouldn’t guess it had only 11% alcohol . Medium high balanced acidity , slightly toasty note on the decent length finish . This is drinking well now , though absolutely no rush , now and over the next 10 years ? — 4 months ago
What a stunning wine- bright medium lemon, crisp acidity and a glorious nose of apple, lemon, flint, smoke and just a hint of herbs. Beautiful balance and a long finish - this is a marvelously elegant triumph of wine making. Fabulous with food or on its own. Dazzling — 5 years ago
Very smooth! Enjoyed on December 24, 2018 — 5 years ago

Sweet. Stone fruits (apricot and peach). I would score it higher if it had a bit more acidity. Enjoyed with a pear tart. — 3 months ago
