I bought this $17 bottle at a place called cheestique and was so surprised when it was amazing! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 — 8 years ago
2015 is equally flavorful as earlier vintages. One of my favorite pilot noirs at a reasonable able price. — 9 years ago
Loved this fantastic balanced cab led blend with owners Nicki and Sean at Brasserie Bordelaise — 9 years ago
Candied red fruit on the nose. Deep dark fruit on the palette. Long, satisfying finish. Favorite wine at the Spire tasting in Calistoga. — 10 years ago
I'm not usually a Merlot fan, but this was a great choice at Heritage downtown. — 10 years ago
Great wine we had at Pepita's house — 11 years ago
This a "Prisoner" killer! Who needs over extracted pornographic hype in a clever package from the likes of ...AHEM...Phinney and friends, when you can drink this little old vine, estate grown jamming gem from TRULY old vines. At a fraction of the price none the damn less! TAY-STEE juice fo' reel! — 11 years ago
$40 at Brixx. Purchased half price on Sundays. Delicious! — 12 years ago
Consumed 11/2017. I have rated this wine before, but the bottle had a different description so I am adding this one as well. When I try to look back at my previous ratings, I can’t figure out how to see what year the vintage was. That could be why the description on the bottle is different.
Robust flavors of ripe berry fruit meld harmoniously with smoky oak and subtle hints of eucalyptus and the earth. An elegant Cassis note complements the long, noble finish. — 8 years ago

Needs still some time to open. At the second day a real elegant beauty, — 9 years ago
Old vine Barossa Shriraz Rhone blend, with a name poking some fun at its Old World Heritage. I love these GSM blends, typically this is pronounced, ripe - black cherry, strawberry/raspberry with violets, vanilla and toast, mushroom and forest floor developing notes. Long finish, full body and high alcohol. Outstanding — 10 years ago
Rich jammy fruit flavors. Sweet cherry stands out the most with American oak characteristics. There is a very solid pepper spice on the finish that lingers. This is a medium body wine at an exceptional price. This winery has always been full flavor at a very approachable price. — 11 years ago
cool influence of the atlantic on this unique blend from uruguay showing its spanish immigrant roots and basqye heritage tasted at la huella restsurant in jise ignacio — 12 years ago
Delicious! Overly sweet for a red, and not dry at all. Can't beat 1.5 liters for $6. — 13 years ago
Strong yet smoth. Purchased at ABC liquor — 7 years ago
From a vineyard tended by the zinfamous Teldeschi family. This one is a little more Zin heavy than some of the other heritage blends, but the usual mixed black suspects are also included. It's still burly at this very young stage and needs extended hours of decanting. Black fruit, smokey, bramble, and spice but still tight with racy acidity. This will improve greatly with age, give them at least 5 more yrs. — 8 years ago

There’s a lot of wine being made in California and abroad that is, in theory, similar to this wine… Extremely old vines of obscure varietals, natural production and so on. However, in this case, winemakers Pax Mahle and Loren Grossman have delivered something that shines brighter than the rest - including their other labels.
Titular “Pax” wines have a similar sense of spice, animal and force, but often lack the subtly found here. His other label “Wind Gap” capitalizing on the trend of hardly ripened fruit to give the wine telling minerality and that mouth-puckering tart freshness at the expense of body. All of which is also evident in this wine, but much more balanced and slowly revealed.
This wine is sexy and nimble, but has depth and a sense of place. Reminiscent of Northern Rhone but less narrowly focused. It’s all you can ask for from California. They only made about 100 cases, and it retails for under 40 dollars. We have 9 bottles left at Joy Wine & Spirits, come in and get it. — 10 years ago
Pretty great. Nice afternoon pick me up at Roberta's. — 10 years ago

Chewy tannins, nice acid on the finish - not at all subtle. Pair boldly. — 11 years ago

Remarkable. Zin at its best. Lots of chocolAte and vanilla with coffee at the finish. Top Lodi zin of the day. — 12 years ago

So good. Lifted, gracious, and pure, with wonderfully sappy, medicinal raspberry and kirsch character. So fine and energetic and juicy. Absolutely love it but it's wound a little tight at the moment. Give it a year or two. — 7 years ago
