Magnum 1997 Joseph Phelps Insignia. Drank at Archetype lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. Second of the red lineup, following a magnum of 1975 Heitz. Much bigger and its youth showed. Lovely wine that we all really enjoyed. β 9 years ago
Delicious, still youthful but nutty, and lovely honeyed notes β 10 years ago

Took about 30 mins to open up, but this is one that's ready to go. Good luck of oak, chunky fruit. Great value! β 9 years ago
No vintage Heitz dessert wine. Matthew treated us to this special surprise at Augustine. Had no idea this ever even existed. Such a treat! β 10 years ago
Another stunner from 1997. β 11 years ago
Ruby red with pink hue. Fresh muddled strawberry and raspberry with stem attached to it. Hint of bubble gum, mint and tarragon on the nose. Med plus to high acidity, mineral, dry with med to med plus tannin. A food rose to enjoy with Mexican food such as chicken and beef tacos. β 7 years ago

Enjoyed this beauty with baked salmon. β 9 years ago
Astonishing Chardonnay. Very elegant and toasty. Gives me Meursault flashbacks. β 9 years ago
Surprisingly great. And from a legendary vintage of Heitz. β 10 years ago

Reductive at first with some smoke. Not unlike PYCM. Reduction blows away rather quickly and reveals clean citrus fruit. Some salinity on the palate. Guesses were PM, SA, M. Relatively short finish indicated village level. Overall decent. β 7 years ago
