"I make wine at Lafite and Latour, but my heart is at Calon"... I can see why Nicolas Alexandre Marquis de Segur said these iconic words after having this wine in my glass. The nose is so inviting with warm spice, cigar smoke, embers, and toast. Raspberry syrup, plums, vanilla, and toffee on the palate. Nice thread of smoke throughout with nice balancing fresh fruit. What an enjoyable wine! 20 months in new oak - obviously the more accessible style the new owners are going for... the Pinot the other night gave an experience, this one tells a story. — 9 years ago
This wine was a great surprise, great value for the $13.99 price! A little tropical and earthiness on the nose, but on the palate it really came alive - crisp with a bit of effervescence, good acid and retaining the fruit flavor. Great with Indian food or any spicy food or shellfish. — 10 years ago
Intense, teeth-staining, black fruit and tannins that will rip your face off. Blinded as a New World Cab/Shiraz blend. — 10 years ago
Unreal. Barrel fermented. White wine from pinot noir grapes. Beeautiful. — 10 years ago
Woodsy. Oakey. Thick. Smooth. Dry. Acidic. — 11 years ago
Tastes like the sister-in-law and myself have the same issues with our husbands. (Brothers). Definitely a nice bouquet that finishes nicely. — 7 years ago

2013 and paired well with our dinner, but good all on its own. — 10 years ago
Note to @Delectable Wine the winery is pronounced “Aranthia” but spelled “Arancia”. A Spanish ringer for Chablis (some people sense Chenin leanings) and a good one at that. Tropical flowers and citrus on the nose, but the palate is energized with lemon, mineral, bright acid, and some stone fruit bitterness. Very light on its feet, but finishes somewhat longer. Crazy good for a BTG selection. — 7 years ago

In full disclosure I have enjoyed few orange wines (think white wines of white of grey grapes that have macerated on their skins like a red wine would in terms of length of skin contact). This however is from squeaky clean Riesling that has spent a month or so on its skins until November and even so is pure and clear, citric and textural, with chirpy tannins, marmalade and apricot pastry. Even the next day it resonated round the whole palate and if anything rocked its back into its orange structure. Delicious and one of a kind. — 10 years ago

Easy going and ever so enjoyable to drink. Red fruit is in the foreground with floral and some spicy notes backing it up. Balanced with a good structure and length. Some earthy complexity is developing in the glass which stimulates the more serious wine drinker. — 7 years ago
