Smells: tart tropical fruits. Taste: minerals, pears, apples. Excellent! — 12 years ago
Magnum 1975 Heitz Martha's Vineyard. Drank at Archetype lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. First of the red lineup. Couldn't believe how this wine held up despite its age. Still had fruit on the nose and a long finish. Really balanced and in perfect shape. — 9 years ago
Gorgeous! Everything im looking for in rioja. Seamlessly developing in maturity. Animal and cigar tobacco notes lead into silky red fruits and oak that adds but never overpowers. Complex and Elegant but not delicate. Like james bond in a tux. And this is just the baby of the L de H lineup... — 10 years ago
The original low pressure (4.5 atmospheres as opposed to 6) Blanc de Blancs sourced entirely from the Grand Cru of Cramant. The original name was Cremant de Cramant, but now that name is illegal! A great combination of toasty friendliness and high quality back end chalk, dosed at just 6g/l. — 10 years ago

Magnum 1997 Joseph Phelps Insignia. Drank at Archetype lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. Second of the red lineup, following a magnum of 1975 Heitz. Much bigger and its youth showed. Lovely wine that we all really enjoyed. — 9 years ago
