Stevens Black Tongue Syrah 2014

Deep purple color. Aromas of pencil, blackberry jam and cocoa powder. Rich, black fruit on the palate, pepper and smoked cedar finish. Superb! β€” 5 years ago

Very fine mousse. Aromas of a partial #barrelfermented base wine and lees, vanilla, cream and pastries. On the palate it has surprising citrus and stone fruit and a touch of elderflower. #southafricanwine #capeclassics β€” 7 years ago

Vintage Port Blend 1985

Rich and concentrated. The elegance and delicacy surrounding the powerful flavors and aromatics are astounding. This is a pivotal wine for the category. Deep dark berry core, Graham/molasses, caramel nuances. Fresh as summer preserves. β€” 8 years ago

Crimson Hill Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Aging really well (as of May 2018). Smells a little hot and ripe, but mellower than expected fruit. Cherry and apple crisp, without too much jammy mouthfeel. A lot more finesse than expected. Like watching a linesman who can dance the tango. β€” 7 years ago

July 4th Friday was a total blowout! Killer bottles one after another. Here are just a few of the bottles we all enjoyed!

Such a treat to compare this against the β€˜08 Schrader To Kalon and the β€˜09 Chappellet Pritchard Hill. This was decidedly more dusty. Dark cocoa dusted dates, cassis, and black cherry compote over toasted graham crackers. This was decanted about an hour+ before we got to it and it was still powering through hours later. Thanks,
@joe leatherwood .
