Apple cider, calvados, honey, marcona almonds, quince, biscotti, saline. Highly aromatic, beautiful golden color. Great acidity, rich texture, long honey comb off dry finish. — 10 years ago
Le Due Terre 2011 Sacrisassi
Fruity Colli Orientali DOC Bianco
Sticky briliant deep golden yellow color. I found crystal of tartaric acid.
I could enjoy gorgeous first scents of a rum raisin, rich barrel, a pineapple, ripe banana, honey, syrup, apple and orange. Then nuance of minerals, cider, or carbonic acid, and hint of a flint and sulfurous flavor made it rich and very complex.
It started with less sweetness and crispy rich acid. Salty or minerals made after taste hard and rich.
Was it a little early to drink?

Fresh mineral (!), green pepper, cassis and lead on the nose, bit of smoke from wood and sap to the fruit - but otherwise more bordeaux than many bordeaux in 2010! Nice cigar note, plenty fresh on palate, again a dash sappy, medium length and full weight. Very lively for napa, no alcohol or wood on finish, excellent for a cali cab but still doesn't quite have $100 concentration in my books. Nevertheless, one of my favorites from the golden state... 2010 vintage. — 10 years ago
So much going on. Golden yellow hue, carmelized brandied pear and roasted chestnut nose, followed by an apple cider, honeyed floral taste. Thankfully, some bright acidity puts a smile on my face. — 10 years ago
The 1955. Sixty years ago a lot of things were different in the golden state. "Burgundy" was "a blend of Gamay and other fine grapes". This half bottle made it, and still had allure and pleasure if only on a thin, frail frame. It was much improved from hours of decanter time. — 10 years ago
Awesome dark red fruit flavors - smooth finish and a great pallete. Full bodied and simply spectacular....name of a great movie with Harrison Ford...and also a great wine from the the Golden State...cheers! — 10 years ago

Caution: Some of these are super carbonated so watch where you point that bad boy when you twist off the wire. Consequently it's the most effervescent cider/poire I've ever experienced, nearly the same effect of putting mento's and coke in your mouth. Hazy golden color with a nice layer of lees sediment. The french farmhouse funk is as lovely as ever with alot of very obvious acetic acid on both the nose as well as palate. Semi-dry, appreciatively fresh with a nice long back end to round things out. She's a beaut :) — 10 years ago
