#AgedWineTuesday
Deep in color with a short reddish rim. Not showing much age.
Medium plus in body with nice complexity.
A little harsh on the palate with medium acidity.
Showing red and black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco, coffee, cola, licorice and peppercorn.
Short finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 27 year old Napa Cabernet is still drinking very nicely, although not at its best. A little unbalanced, but drinkable nonetheless. Really liked the tannins here.
Needed some time to open up, and show structure and tannins, but good right out of the bottle as well.

Always nice to drink this kind of wines.
A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 22 months in (53% new) oak barrels.
13.6% alcohol by volume.

The nose on this was incredible from the start - cassis, baking spices, and chocolate- exactly what I was craving tonight. But the wine really needed a lot of time to open up. Luckily, it's a Friday night and I've got nowhere to be! An hour and a half after decanting, the Cab Franc that had been very pronounced upon opening the bottle had mellowed and integrated nicely with the rest of the blend. — 4 years ago

Always going to be the highlight of the Wynns tasting and only made in years where the fruit quality and vintage conditions were exceptional. Sue Hodder said everything fell into place in 2015 and she made one of her best ever Riddochs. From less than 1% of Wynns available Cabernet fruit. Latent power on nose and palate with black fruits and balanced oak. At least a 30 year future but so balanced you could happily drink this now but one should wait at least 10 years for its charms to start showing through. A brilliant 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. — 7 years ago

Thanksgiving worthy Pinot that was very smooth, subtle, with hints of chocolate. — 8 months ago
