Good flavor, not too much rye but definitely there. Hearty imperial, very full-bodied. — 9 years ago

Super hops meets super stout. Very hoppy, chocolate, and hints of coffee. — 10 years ago
My notes on this from May of 2017 still apply. Popped and poured. Drank well over two days. Immediately this wine impresses visually. Sure, the color is an expected deep garnet but what's most striking is the fact that it's never completely opaque at the core. You can just barely get the faintest amount of light to see through it. It's quite beautiful, really. The nose is initially a bit reticent but a few minutes of air in the glass does the trick and then it really begins to show off the most lovely perfume of mixed red and dark fruit; so fresh and pure with just a flash of garrigue. No perceptible heat on the nose. On the palate it's a veritable wonder of berries, Rainier cherries, black berry liqueur, and just a touch of fine white pepper. The body is perfectly proportioned and the finish lasts for over 30 seconds. In summary, this is an incredibly balanced 2010 CdP that is already hitting its prime. Personally, I felt it was really at its very best about two hours in which leaves me to believe it should be a great pop and pour for the next couple of years and potentially has the balance to be great for longer. That being said, there is no need to decant, just pull the cork, pour and enjoy the evolution in the glass. The hard part is allowing it to last for two hours and longer. It should be noted that this is dangerously quaffable wine and it wouldn't be hard to take the whole thing to the head. Might as well drink these sooner than later as I'm always a bit wary of CdP much beyond the 10 year mark, where I tend so find many of them fall apart on the palate. Perhaps others with more experience in the long-term ageing of CdP can chime in though. Absurd value at $30.
As a side note, this paired very nicely with pan fried pork savory bacon wrapped filet mignon. — 7 years ago
Amazingly good. Still young but starting to flash some elegance. — 9 years ago
Very solid IPA, this celebrates the one year anniversary partnership between Green Flash and Alpine, of course if you still want Alpine beer, you will have to go to their brewery, good news is, this lends more to the Alpine style of IPA's then Green Flash, using the proprietary Alpine yeast strain, a very good start, hope they continue to be as good and better in future brews, big hop profile, Mosaic, Citra, Simco and El Dorado hops, 7% ABV, 55 IBU's feels and taste bigger, big wow factor for me, only paid $1.99 for this bomber — 9 years ago
2015 release, pink label, Treasure chest, profits for Brest cancer, One the most tropical IPA's I ever had, prickly pear, Hibiscus, grapefruit, very little malt backbone to balance the hops, but that is a good thing, low AVB, very smooth, refreshing and tasty, nice floral hops, mosaic hops, I really liked it, I love Hibiscus, those who do not, maybe will not like this beer as much as I do, Great Beer, Great cause — 10 years ago
This is the bottle that made me think I had a future in wine. It was a lonely bottle found in the basement that ended up in a flash sale to make room for restocking. I saw a nearly 10 year old French wine with a $9 sticker on it & thought "Either it's gross or they don't know what they have...either way, MINE!" When first poured I was disappointed - no nose to speak of & sediment, grr. I decanted it and took a shower. MOTHER OF GOD...it's amazing what a little bit of air can do. My partner, who isn't much for red wine couldn't believe how fragrant & smooth it was. We managed to keep from gulping it & enjoyed t across 2 dinners. I tried to find a case & the only one was auctioned through Christies! Ha! Sometimes you get lucky & this wine literally changed my life. — 10 years ago

So smooth! A favorite Pinot Noir for sure , smooth, silly and sexy. After Norah jones concert with Grace, Flash and Matty April 2017 — 8 years ago
This is the real beer, from Alpine, not Green Flash, picked up at the brewery, much better, not as good as their Nelson, but very good — 9 years ago
Pearls, vintage Chris Craft, night time ride across the lake, low moon flashes behind the trees, underwear in your pocket this time. The green flash of the aurora borealis comes out of nowhere, a slow serpentine sine-wave pulsing across the Milky Way. — 9 years ago
Pine, hoppy, hoppy, hoppy and a touch skunk but great with Sichuan! — 10 years ago

Rainbow unicorn kitty alert! I love older Bordeaux’s but this is epic. Full bodied but the tannins are so integrated it comes across as a lush mouthful of Pauillac joy. It has a long lasting finish to boot. This bottle went in a flash. — 6 years ago
