Cherry, with a slightly dank, earthy, mushroom side. Acidity is right where I like it. Drinking so well! Recommended by my favorite somm ;) — 6 years ago
WYLD restaurant at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch. Very smooth, great St. Julian red. Perfect pairing with steak. — 7 years ago
VVVVVVVAAAAAALLLLLLLUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEE it's hard to drink this stuff because it's actually too good. It's like it's so cheap it's a goddamn shame because I will not hold on to any of these. I WILL BE DRINKING THEM AND BARELY BELIEVING I PAID LESS THAN $20 a bottle 😮 — 8 years ago
This is not your Frenchman's cab franc. Super ripe dark berries, tons of booze, intensely concentrated flavor, dusty tannins, a dash of sweet spice. Long finish of ripe, concentrated fruit, but boy that booze hits the nostrils and stays there. Needs decanting. Quite a payoff once it airs out though. — 9 years ago
i admittedly have an affinity for wines from this site. this bottle showed very nicely -- super impressive. shimmering medium yellow. great texture and tension. a little matchstick but not too much after a decant. bright acid. i slightly preferred the 2016 AR trout gulch but this is an excellent wine. — 7 years ago
Kutch's 2015 Chardonnay (Sonoma Coast) is a very pretty wine that straddles the line between the more reductive style of the 2014 and lusher expression found in the 2016. Lemon peel, white flowers, chalk, mint and white pepper give the 2015 brightness, aromatic lift and tension. Insistent saline notes punctuate the driving finish. Most of the fruit is from Bohan, although about 10% of the grapes came from Trout Gulch, in the Santa Cruz Mountains. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, April 2018) — 7 years ago
Veeerry friendly Shiraz at this price. Cherry up front, red apple tobacco, good structure and a frenchman's even hand taming those tannins. — 8 years ago
Chablisienne. Not at all like their Trout Gulch. Lemon oil, oyster shell and minerality. — 5 years ago
Showing some age with baked apple notes. A little tar on the nose. Its pronounced acidity keeps it fresh. From Trout Gulch. — 6 years ago
One of the best reds I've had — 6 years ago
