IM impressed. Amazing bouquet - think honeysuckle on a warm sunny day. Perfect weight white peaches and on the back dried apricots. Perfect now. — 8 years ago
2010 vintage. Au Fil du Zinc, Chablis. Pale lemon hue. Minerality to the fore, lemon citrus fruit profile, honeysuckle and white flowers. Chalky crispness. On the palate, high acidity, medium minus body, medium alcohol and medium concentration. Good long finish - tart and crisp. Will age a long time. Drink now until 2036+. — 9 years ago
Pretty dark fruit on the nose, mainly black cherry, hint of new oak is not overpowering but more to the fore than I prefer. On the palate, the new oak adds weight and vanillins to the dark fruit. Vanilla finish. Very nice acidity. More neutral oak would get a higher score from me. — 9 years ago
Sporting classic notes of pencil shavings, black currants, mint, and fine dust, Louis Martini's 2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is like a no-frills 4-door sedan. Its structure is concentrated on the fore palate, with firm, fine tannins followed by plush blackberries, black Italian plums, figs, spice and anise, delivering Napa Cab expression at a reasonable price. There is even a dusting of cocoa powder on the exhaust pipe. Sample — 9 years ago
Anxious to let a bottle sit and see how it progresses. Lovely structure and balance, I'm just looking for bit more umph in the fore palette. — 10 years ago
One of my favourite Languedoc whites. Made in small quantities from old Rousanne and Rolle (vermentino) vines. Densely packed with fruit, minerals, and and plenty of acidity. One of the truly fine and hitherto fore relatively unknown jewels of the Languedoc! [incidentally I opened a bottle from the cellar two days later which wasn't half as good - was it the setting, bottle variation, or company?] — 10 years ago
Overall good wine. Enjoyed with pizza. Very drinkable — 10 years ago
Bright, silky smooth and lots of berries on the fore. Thought I wouldn't enjoy that profile before popping but it's an EXCELLENT light Pinot — 10 years ago
Nicely developed Bonnes Mares, there is still ample acidity and structure to carry this forward in the cellar. Red fruit punctuated by a high candy-like note along with black cherry, spice and herbs. Intensity is concentrated on the mid and fore palate, offering great structure and polish throughout. The finish is satisfyingly lengthy and spicy. — 10 years ago
I don’t know what it is about this wine, or rosé in general for that matter... I want to like it as it feels elegant and fresh on the fore pallet, I want to love it as a matter of fact, but it seems as if there are hallow particles in the liquid after the mid pallet. There is something hiding in it, it is somewhere in there but my pallet just doesn’t grasp it! Then, towards the middle of the glass, bottle possibly, it all comes together like the latter part of a Frank Schubert cello piece and reminds me that I need to try more rosé wine. — 7 years ago
How to even rate a wine like this? It's 30 years old and still delicious. Unsurprising depth/complexity with tobacco and leather to the fore. Black fruits in there, but seriously...30 years... — 8 years ago

2015 Albariño "Stewart Vineyard", Carneros — 9 years ago
A nicely mature bottle, notes of green pepper on the nose upon opening but with time tobacco, leather and black currant come to the fore and the palate is a delicious mouthful of fruit, acidity and beautifully resolved tannin. It might be missing a bit of weight on the palate but otherwise it is altogether lovely and at peak drinking. The '96. — 9 years ago
Cocoa powder wafts from the bottle, fresh pumpkin, cinnamon and brown sugar, uncut apple and mocha coffee. Pumpkin at the fore on the palate. Cinnamon on toast, cappuccino into mocha, creme de cocoa, hazelnut, and the malts have integrated so well with the brewed pumpkin and the hops! There is light sweet tobacco, chicory, pecan pie, and clove. — 10 years ago
Monkey 47 Dry Distiller Gin. Slightly hazy, water white, colourless. Pronounced intensity of perfume, juniper, lingonberry, violets, lavender, orange and grapefruit zest. With water added, more perfume and citrus notes to the fore. Dry on the palate. Warming alcohol, medium body, pronounced flavour intensity. Long finish. Very complex. Outstanding example of a premium gin. — 10 years ago
2007 vintage. Vieilles Vignes. Medium brick garnet hue. Herbal, white flower, white pepper, earthy and forest floor. Very attractive nose. On the palate, great balance of fruit and tannins - tight grain. Herbal character to the fore, black currant and slight mint. Good length. Ready to drink now as I think the fruit is starting to dry out. — 10 years ago
1989 vintage, Krug Collection, bottle number 33. Deep golden brown. Very rich - honey and apricot, some oxidation and sherry notes. Great acidity and huge concentration. Broad mid palate. Bollinger style. Very honeyed with some pecan nuts. Creamy. Sour apricots. Very long. Style won't suit purists. But I love it. NB: with air, beef consume notes to the fore. — 10 years ago
2006 vintage. Good old fashioned Barolo. Light colour and hue. Medicinal notes. Floral and red cherry. Gorgeous crunchy tannins. Long finish. This is a step up from the '89. Plenty of years ahead of this wine. Very good indeed. NB: after 2 hours this wine is singing: roses and tar to the fore, integrated tannins, crisp acidity. Bouquet is out of this world. — 10 years ago
Dinner at Fore Street in Portland Maine. Soft and lushes with cherry and earth. Perfect. — 11 years ago
2003 drinking very well. Structure and length, plums and damsons to the fore.. Beautiful. — 8 years ago
With any other meal, the minerality would be at the fore, but with a rare rack of lamb, the minerals are tamed and the fruit notes are heightened. Clear, slightly brick color with hints of ruby. Smells of roses and leather. Incredibly subtle tannins. — 8 years ago
Had an opportunity to have this GSM a couple months back, very smooth, well balanced tannins. Cherry, blackberry. A hint of spice but well balanced, this is well done — 9 years ago
My first time with this wine, made by TRB with fruit from the Clark-Claudon Vineyard on Howell Mtn. Extremely dark in the glass, almost black with just a touch of red at the edge. The nose is great - very expressive on opening, with lots of sweet dark cherries at the fore. The palate shows more dark cherries and black currant fruit, complemented by notes of coffee and plenty of fine tannins on the back end. This reminds me of a slightly fruitier version of a Seavey cab. Really good stuff. — 9 years ago
1997 vintage. Medium Amber hue. Medium intensity of apples, Perry pears, honey, vanilla. Apple sauce, wood resin, cinnamon, toffee apple. With water added, more wood and vanilla notes to the fore. Very aged. On the palate, off dry, smooth integrated alcohol. Full bodied, pronounced flavour intensity of apples, pears, honey and toffee apple. Long finish, highly complex spirit. — 10 years ago
Strawberry and grapefruit to the fore. Small, tight bubbles. Awesome! — 10 years ago
2004 vintage from Clape. Deep ruby hue. Violet and floral, very plummy - dark fruits. Hints of sweet spice, nutmeg and cardoman, smokey notes. On the palate, medium plus body, high acidity - integrated and refreshing. Medium plus, plush and ripe tannins. Long finish. The plums to the fore. Still quite primary and youthful. Should develop nicely over the next 15 years. Open in 2025. — 10 years ago
It's hard to believe the Jules Desjourneys 2009 is a Beaujolais, such is the concentration and depth of this Moulin À Vent. The fruit is not so unusual, a generous dollop of wild strawberries and pie cherries, but then it veers sharply off the sunlit path, into a thicket of scrub and undergrowth, wet decaying leaves and stony brook, only emerge once more with violets, lilacs and sandalwood. Nicely developed, with fine fore-to-mid palate tannins, it's drinking beautifully now and has the potential to last. — 10 years ago
I had the 2008 Eclipse. Made by Drew Noon MW this wine is no shrinking violet. Masses of flavour - raspberry notes to the fore. 15.5% alcohol a bit hot but a good wine for a cold mid winters night in Toowoomba. 17. Tasted another on 17th July 2015 on a very cold night. Similar tasting notes to a year ago. Snowed in Stanthorpe Qld today. Yes, Sunny Queensland!! The perfect wine for tonight. — 11 years ago

Golden color with intense honey on the nose. As it warms incredible honeyed fruits comes to the fore. In the mouth there is fantastic minerality with great acid. Long lingering aftertaste; wonderful wine!! — 6 years ago
