Clear bright, medium yellow, no rim. Medium viscosity, no gas or sediment. Delicate nose of caramel and unripe pear, bitter almond, white flowers, gardenia, honeysuckle. Butternut squash. Slightly tropical on the palate with spice, pepper, malolactic, and vegetal notes. Slight oak. Medium body, medium acid and complexity. Well integrated and fresh on the palate. — 8 years ago
I feel I have found a treasure for which I have been searching for years. My second Chateau Rayas - first a 2000, now a 2006. It is a perfect wine with a delicacy that reminds me of a beautiful burgundy. Perfect balance of fruit and earth, but restrained so that flowers emerge on both the nose and in the mouth. Just magnificent. Should I tell all of you when my birthday is...? — 7 years ago
Said fuck it to all my errands and did this instead. Very reductive start- dead flowers, Brett, wet cardboard , serious funk. Give it 3 minutes and then it's rose petals on the nose, minerals and slight pepper on the tannic finish. Amazing — 9 years ago
Creamy and mouth filling, pink flowers and strawberry on the nose, whipped cream, candied red apple, wet stone on the palate — 7 years ago

One of the greatest wines I have ever enjoyed red or white. Rich yet zesty, sizzling yet abundantly fruited, chiseled yet tender ... Perfume like aromas: apple and pear, exotic woods, vanilla, cream, beeswax, toasted brioche, raw earth, wet stone, wild flowers and Lemon Curd... it was sensory overload - an explosion of nuance - The richness gave way to the acidity; The structure gave way to the terroir and yet the Riches was still there as was the acid as was the terroir on an on and on - perfection!!! Served out of 3 L at Gwen restaurant on Sunset Blvd during the "best bottle" dinner hosted by wineLA on February 8, 2017. 100 points drink now through the rest of your life time.... I do hope to try this again someday somewhere. — 7 years ago
